I was so happy when that happened. It was a Seattle fan dream come true. Behring worked hard to screw the town in his quest to move the Hawks to California and attendance was at an all time low.
He saved the team, radio callers constantly talked the idea because it was chump change to Allen, but he made it clear that it wasn't a charity. He said that he was going to make it work and we are back to where sales were when the Nordstroms owned the team.
There is a comfort in knowing that the Hawks have one of the richest men in the world as an owner, but also one that truly cares about putting a winning product on the field. I thank him for it at least once a year via social networking and once in person at an event for the Sea Launch program.
