The people who control the power rankings are going to excuse their preseason ratings by saying it's just week 1. It's gonna take a good record through multiple games to convince.

Why would they be based off the first power rankings?
Arent those all irrelevant after watching the teams play?
Anywhere from 6-9 wins is a fair projection at this ppint. The 0,1 and 2 win people need to readjust though I think

Because that's how arbitrary rankings work.

If UW is ranked 22nd in the country and beat Arizona in week one of the college season do they jump up to #6?

No they move up a little. That's it.

NFL power rankings are about the dumbest thing to argue over anyway. Not sure why fans get so mad about something so irrelevant.

That was my point.
They are arbitrary when (in theory) they arent supposed to be. Creators of these rankings supposedly discern themselves from college rankings in this way....but in reality they dont :)
But you're right, dumb to argue about, although more fun than a fire Pete thread haha

Power rankings are about capability and performance and not about record. The Broncos out-gained the Seahawks 443 yards to 271. By that metric the Seahawks performed worse than expected. The Broncos scored 3 points in 3 goal-to-go situations and they lost by a point. They could have scored 21 points and won by 17. The Broncos lost a game they should have won. Non-Seahawks fans aren't convinced yet.

The could’ve narrative is idiotic (as usual). The refs could’ve called (blatant) holding on the Broncos numerous times during big plays. Diggs and Adams could’ve caught easy interceptions. Metcalf could’ve held on to the ball.

Arent power rankings supposed to be based on how the teams have played so far??

How can they be behind teams that lost?

Image and preconceived notions arent supposed to apply to these....... ;)

It took something miraculous like two goal line fumbles for Seattle to win. Denver should have won by double digits and people realize that.

Your recent post history is hilarious. You figure you'd tone it down after constantly being wrong. Denver should not even have been in the game if the refs called the blatant holds. Should doesn't matter because you can always play that game for both teams.

Oh come on. Seattle won a game they shouldnt have. Thats great and i'm happy but lets be real. Denver lost that game more than Seattle won it. It took two goal line fumbles (hasent happened in 35 years) and ridiculous clock management by Denver for the victory. Geno threw for 30 total yards in the second half. People arent fooled by that game. Seattle just isnt a good team this year.

I saw a scoreboard that said 17-16, that's all that matters. Couldn't care less how it looked. I'm not all in on Geno either, but he deserves credit where it's due. He was solid.
