Did anybody ever consider the possibility that the dog actually liked the resort and wanted to stay there?

So if you just leave your child at a crèche one day and never go back for it, it's ok because they specialise in looking after kids?

Oh yeah I forgot. It's only a dog. Who cares that it probably sat there confused about why his owners had left it in an unusual place. Not to mention the kennels - I'm sure it's standard practise to expect they'll keep paying the bills and re-home your pet, without any notice or prior warning.

Nobody should be trying to justify this. It's a jackass move. Doesn't mean we have to dislike MB or not want him on the roster. But there's also no need to cover his ass.

Yikes. Did you just compare a kid to a dog?

Sorry dude. It's a dog. Not a kid. A dog. Would you be upset if it was a bird? Or a rat? Probably not.

A kid and a dog are not comparable.

For those of you saying "it's just a dog", probably doesn't even own a dog. Dogs are more to a family than just a dog. I consider my dog a member of my family. I care for him just as much as others in my family. It's obviously not a kid, but to say "it's just a dog" obviously means you put no type of value on other creatures that share this world with us. I bet you think its ok to f@ck around with a beached dolphin or shoot bb's at raccoons and stuff right? It's simple, while leaving your dog at a "doggie resort" is not the end of the world, or even something to really condemn a man for, it is however not acceptable behavior. I mean do you want to teach your kids to get a dog only to abandon it when you don't want it anymore? Maybe he should have never gotten the dog in the first place. There are places to leave your unwanted pets and even then I would turn my thumb down on those for not carefully thinking about getting a dog in the first place. However a doggie resort isn't one of those places to leave them.

To further your point, I wonder if anyone considered that Bennett may actually be a lousy dog owner (judging by his actions he very well may have been) and the dog may actually be in better hands now than he was prior to staying at the 6 star world renowned doggy resort...

I have 0 problem with an owner boarding his dog, I travel frequently have to board my dog at times, that's what a responsible dog owner does. When you don't pick it up and don't make arrangements for it post that makes you a piece of shit. I can understand his life didn't fit having a dog at that time but then find somebody who could take it. Free purebred boxer puppy, you trying to tell me he couldn't find a taker anywhere? he didn't bother, he tried to stiff the company he hired to do a service and washed his hands of the situation... The people saying it's a dog and saying it's not a child, is that a goddamn relevant point????? he made the DECISION to get a dog, it wasn't forced down his throat, when you take on a responsibility you follow through or you're a pathetic man. Sorry he's a great football player but how you treat animals and people matter, it's all about character, no matter how fun his interviews may be.

Dog shmog. I would kill my dog and eat it if I were hungry enough. I would not do that with my children.
