Nine sacks a year ago? Adams hasn't recorded a QB sack since December 20th, 2020.Would you take the fastest LB in the NFL...who has the best catching abilities in the NFL? Add on 9 sacks a year ago from a position that doesn't typically get sent to sack the QB.
Sure, he has been fairly called hands of steal but that's being judged as a safety, not a LB.
Yes, he is fragile but if no one wants him and the Hawks can grab him back at anywhere near a vet minimum on a prove it 1 year deal...jump on it!
The average height/weight for an NFL linebacker is 6'2", 245 lbs. Adams is 6'1", 213 lbs. To say that he'd be undersized would be an understatement. Plus, I don't get the logic of putting a player who is injury prone into a position where he's going to be subject to more physical contact than he was before.
Not only that, but Adams was a locker room problem. Let's not forget the incident where he refused to support his teammates after he found out that he wasn't going to play:
As bad as Adams was on the field at times over the last three years, the worst possible thing he could do is leave his teammates out to hang. Yet, ahead of Week 15 against the Philadelphia Eagles, Adams did just that. After learning he was not going to play (because of injury or ineffectiveness), Adams either chose to leave Lumen Field or stay at home. (Where he was initially remains unclear.)
Macdonald just got through giving this defense an enema and purged us of the POS named Jamal Adams. No way do I want to see him anywhere near this team.
There are only 53 spots on an NFL roster. Let's not waste one on an experiment that has almost zero chance of succeeding.
