We KNOW after watching the Rams on MNF that the next game does not mean SQUAT in regards to what happened the game before.

Game Plan?

Well based on recent games.

Offense

1) Leave Jimmy in to block. Do not send him out on routes. Especially in the red zone. He is the ultimate decoy, worth every penny. Also leave him 1-on-1 to block DEs because he is a really good blocker.

2) Continue to run the ball into loaded boxes, even if it isn't working. Keep doing it.

3) Misdirection, and counter runs are not allowed, must remain stubborn, and predictable at all times in the running game.

4) 3rd and manageable. Go empty, because you don't want to allow the pass rush to hesitate, and think the Hawks may run the ball, it is much more suitable to have the pass rush pin their ears back, and make a beeline right for your QB. (Especially when he is injured.)

5) RB screens don't exist. Why would you want to use a pass rusher's aggressiveness against them anyway?

6) Be afraid of the end zone, so once you get close, don't go vertical and attack the end zone w/Jimmy down the seam, instead go horizontal with bubble screens, and kick the field goal.

7) Always commit a procedural penalty every drive, because 1st & 10 is too easy. 1st & 15 is more optimal.

8- "They'll never see it coming". This strategy is best implemented when you have momentum and are putting together a good drive. Last week was the Alex Collins special. This week, stay tuned. It's called "They'll never see it coming" for a reason.

9) Zone Read. Even when your QB is no threat to run.

Defense

1) Sit back in a 3 Deep Zone, and have the underneath defenders lose track of the TE, and the backs coming out of the backfield.

2) Do not put Sherm on the other teams best receiver on 3rd down. We don't want the best ball hawk in the modern era getting INTs. Let's instead have him be the $15M decoy for the defense.

3) Commit an off-sides penalty when it's 3rd & 10. 3rd & 5 is more optimal.

4) No exotic looks, or coverages, you may confuse the QB and have him throw a pick.

Special Teams

1) Run the ball out of the end zone no matter what. I mean who wants to start at your own 25? When you can start at your own 15.

Tedious and frustrating 3 and outs until the last series of the game where we then take the ball down the field with relative ease and score the winning touchdown, winning the game 7-6

If I recall correctly Lockett took knees and the one that was run out was by Richardson after Lockett exited the game.

Still a bad decision

Figured we should start a constructive discussion on our upcoming game to take minds off our losses.

Seahawk O vs. 49er D:

Looking to see how the 49er CBs will match up on the Hawk WRs, and whether they'll go zone or man coverage. Will a spy be used on Wilson? Who will cover Jimmy Graham? Will Tartt play more than Bethea?

Will the Hawks go more 22 or 23 personnel or more 11 and 12? Is Wilson ready to resume the zone read?

Seahawk D vs. 49er O:

49ers will have to run the ball better than last week and find a way to get the ball into TEs hands in order to have success. Gabbert will have to make some downfield throws too. Not holding my breath he gets them to the WRs a lot.

Will the Hawks stack the box like other teams? Run blitz?

X-Factors:

Wilson's downfield throws to Lockett.
49er RBs in the passing game.
Hurry up tempo by Chip Kelly.
Lockett on returns.
Jonathan Ryan versus Bradley Pinion.

Turnovers will be huge.
Non existent is what our game plan will be.

It doesn't matter what the offensive game plan is going to be, if Wilson isn't mobile enough to escape and look down field the 49ers will stack the box against the run game and give him the short stuff and crash and blitz when they have down and distance in their favor, we need to use the mid level part of the field to make them back off.

I expect we run the ball with much more success. For whatever reason we seem to have big days rushing against the 9ers. I realize its a new regime there but I still think we rebound nicely next week.
This would make a huge difference in giving us some attainable third downs and some sustained drives. I am curious if we see Ifedi this week.

I'd put money on a CFL, NCAA, or hell even NBA team against the Bears. Pretty much anything will work against them.

a screen to an eligible Sowell. Could be the difference in the game. Never thought I would be worried about playing the 49ers but I am....

The plan should be for Michael to get 20 carries. He has been one of the few bright spots on offense and his ability to cut back against pressure actually is an advantage with this offensive line. Rawls tends to hit the hole hard which is great but works against our line currently as strange as that sounds. MIchael makes a cut and comes out the back side and has made a few big runs out of nothing because of it.

So feed Michael the ball and take some shots down the field and I think the offense has somewhat of a rebound this week.

On defense keep doing what you're doing. We will give up some passing yards and short to intermediate stuff but will keep them out of the end zone. I don't expect a high scoring game because of how we are built at the moment with injuries but a dominate performance regardless. I'll say 24-6 for an easy win.

He's been a detriment to a very talented team the last 4 years. How often does Seattle win games in a handily fashion? Its crazy. Its time for Pete to look past his friendship and loyalty and scrap him for the benefit of the team.

Haha. Exactly. What I'm waiting for is the response to why that stuff never works against the rams, has been proven year after year to be a crap system against them, yet Bevell changes zero. And amazingly the results remain the same.

Not true.

I know that is the narrative but it isn't correct.

The Rams have always played us CLOSE. But the idea that the Rams just naturally beat us is not true.

We lost to the Rams the time that Lynch was upset. But for the most part, the Rams beating us (at least the last few times) really was the result of some crazy trick play or some special teams gaffe.

We have had close games both ways, remember the 4th string LB that stopped the pass in the EZ in SL? It was just that we seemed to own everyone else, that made it so glaring.

The issue now is that they don't even need trick plays to beat us. Admittedly we had an injured Wilson but given the performance of our offense this year, not sure that would have mattered.

Your opinion. My take is he's made our team more talented with his mentoring and play designs. And if you think Pete retains him out of friendship, you are sadly mistaken. Pete has a strong desire to win and Bevell and Richards are his hand-picked assets to get that job done.

I don't know if you've ever played sports, but you win as a team and you lose as a team. And I personally enjoy how we've been winning as of late.

You are right about that saying, but there is another saying, and it says that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over, and expecting different results.

We win as a team, and lose as one, but for crying out loud, change your approach until you find something that works Bevell!

Does making the playoffs 4 straight years and winning at a 65% clip qualify as doing the same thing over and over again? If that's the case, please book me a stay in the padded room.
