Would be worth pursuing as a DC again or do you think they are completely happy with Richards?

Gus didn't have the killer instinct that Quinn did/does. Need to let Kris have some more time to see what he really can bring, but at this point I'd put Gus 3rd, behind Kris, with Quinn first. I do like that Kris seems to have a nice feel for when to blitz...hopefully that continues.

We would not demote Richard . . . he's a better coach than Bradley. However, I think he would help us quite a lot as a LB Coach once he is fired by Jacksonville.

I like Richards agressiveness, I just think that some of his schemes do not fit what we've done in the past.

I mean if it ain't broke don't fix it. I don't get to watch every game, but our break downs seem to be in the discipline department. Such as stay in your lane, play your position, don't make THE play make A play.

I don't know just an opinion.

If only he did that against the Packers. Rodgers had no pressure

It was a harder sell against GB because Rodgers is so good at exploiting blitzes and GB's interior OL is the strongest in the league in pass pro. Avril and Bennett generated a lot of outside pressure, combining for an amazing 15 pressures; Rodgers is just so tough against it.

Rodgers feasts on the blitz at Lambeau esp. I think it's a feather in Richards's cap that he knew to lay off the blitz that game. Richards seems to have the devil's luck WRT timing the blitz, combined with Wagner seeming to get home every time.

I mean if we had no DC I wouldn't kick Bradley out of bed (he never EVER had the pass rush assets when he was here) but boy, unless Richards loses his mojo I can't get behind replacing him with anyone.

You already want to replace a guy after 3 games?
Come on ... give Kris time to adjust, learn and improve.

I hope not. As a positional coach he was meh, as a DC his zones were soft and his blitzes typically backfired. As a head coach he's sucked.

Worse yet, if he became our DC he'd probably keep the job long term ala Bevell. I don't want to think about the long term future of this team with two underachieving coordinators holding the team back into perpetuity.

FWIW, I think Richard has done a pretty good job so far. I like how he calls blitzes and how he scrambled to fix the defense through some early season adversity. When Seattle has failed on D, it's been because of guys like Bailey falling down or our LBs slipping off tackles uncharacteristically. There have been some personnel issues on the field, but the defense itself seems to be run as well as ever.

Gus has never and will never get the props he deserves. I think mostly because we compare recent Ds against his defense filled with rookies and players new to the system...which he helped create and mold into what and who they are today. I can't count the number of times a current player mentioned Gus as a HUGE part of their development and success.

Both Bennett and Avril were being escorted around Rodgers all game long. Clark goes in and pushes his guy back into Rodgers twice and then disappears as Avril and Bennett are escorted around Rodgers for the rest of the game. Richard needs to be quicker to stick with things that work. It was easy to see, but when they went back to what WASN'T working, it became hard to watch.

It's not fair IMO to keep comparing Bradley to Quinn like Bradley is some lesser version of the same coach.

Bradley went to the worst franchise in the entire league with NO talent whatsover on either side of the ball. Add in a terrible football culture, history and apathetic fanbase and it's not surprising he's having a hard time turning the Jags around.

Quinn went to a fantastic situation. Great owner, great fanbase, talent on both sides of the ball and a top 10 QB in his prime.

Quinn has certainly instilled a fire in Atlanta's defense and helped the overall mentality/culture. But my guess is Bradley would have done the same. Both GREAT coaches.

Richard is going to be a HC in this league. And he will be a good one.
