...or did the defense look different after Brooks went down with the injury? Maybe even a little better against the runs and with QB pressure?

Don't get me wrong - I'm not saying that Brooks is an issue - but was it a scheme change or something?
Or again - maybe I was just seeing something that wasn't really there.

It seemed like they ran a lot of 4-man fronts. From my limited observation skills that was the whole game more so than after Brooks went down. Dunno.

The Seahawks had a two score lead when Brooks went down. They were playing from behind and essentially abandoned the run game. The defense knew this and played as such. It’s one of the reasons Darrell Taylor ended up with 2.5 sacks. The defense just went after the QB.

When your offense scores points early on it makes it easier on the defense. Football is a team game and complimentary football is a big part of that.
