Kudos to the NLTBE loophole. The fact he was suspended for almost all of 2014 allowed this to happen.

That said, that's a lot of coin to carryover into the next year. I don't think JS would ever structure a deal like that.

Yeah there's no way the Hawks could offer Hardy that large of a contract or structure it like that with Wilson + Wagner contracts coming up and hitting the cap hard next year and also having to re-sign Okung, Irvin, etc. next year.

I'm of the belief that Rosenhaus (his agent) has been playing up the interest in Hardy from the get go.

A few weeks ago, Shefter and Rapoport were saying there were 6 teams interested in him. This was b.s. and it came from the agent. Teams like the Raiders and Falcons were reportedly interested but they shot it down because it was b.s.

Then you had a report yesterday that it was Dallas, Tampa Bay, and Seattle. It was also reported that he was visiting Seattle after Dallas, but Seattle shot that down yesterday. Where are these reports coming from? Duh, the agent.

Even today, the idea that it is down to Tampa and Dallas is most likely b.s. I'm guessing the Bucs aren't ready to put an offer on the table, but Rosenhaus is trying to get a deal done.

I think Seattle had some interest, but wasn't going to do anything until they found out how long Hardy is going to be suspended. this season.

The only team with real interest is the Cowboys, and I'll be surprised if the offer is any good.

This is all Rosenhaus doing way more than the usual bsing about interest in his client because interest is weak, and the only offer he is going to get is going to be a low one. I'm sure Hardy is frustrated by it too. He's probably close to broke. He had to pay lawyers and pay off this girl. I bet you any money his millions have quickly evaporated.

Agreed and Drew basically just admitted to it by retweeting this ...

good signing by boys.
Not really. Jerruh was bidding against himself and if he would have played his cards right he probably could have had him for half that. The one year deal is the only good part for the Cowboys. The baggage this guy is going to bring joining a team that already has 2 players with DV issues is going to offset what he does on the field IMHO.

Isn't Hardy still on the NFL's exempt list? The NFL just filed a second lawsuit requesting more info from his first trial, it sounds like Goodell isn't quite ready to make a decision on him yet. Anyone know if there is a specific date the NFL is required to make a decision on his case and punishment if any?

Love that they've been most likely negotiating with themselves!

That's serious money right there.

On that tip, I'd bet a clever sociopath could fool just about anyone for a little while. And since I've encountered a few sketchy folks over the years but have never been trapped by one or drawn into any hazardous situations, I like to think I'm not one of those people who can't wrap their head around the realities of evil people. Apparently, Greg Hardy is a good example of those people you describe.

I am a lot of things but I was never a Boy Scout. I'm about mutual respect and treating everyone as a whole-person individual. I don't put women on a pedestal. I believe males and females are equal, but I see how it looks like elevation when one common perception is that women are less-than to begin with. So that's it regarding my take. Now back to the topic at hand, which is the Seahawks are not signing Greg Hardy...

Thanks for the level-headed response. I never made it to Boy Scouts either, stopped at Webelos when they stopped having open gym basketball before and after the meetings.

I have been through a high-conflict divorce in family court, with false DV allegations used as a cynical attack tactic by my ex, which she was talked into by her Narcissistic-Personality-Disordered attorney. (No actual charges were ever filed, it was just used as a divorce advantage tactic) About $10K into the process of just trying to protect myself, I gave up all hope of getting any "fairness" from "the system", and just tried to minimize the financial damage, and minimize the issues that got brought before the corrupt family court system; I could "win" a $2K financial dispute with the ex, but spend $5K in legal fees, motions, hearings, document filings, etc., to do so. The final tally was closer to $30K for me, and $40-50K my ex spent, constantly attacking me with "legal harrassment".

So I totally get Hardy just wanting to put a stop to the process, and move on with life. DV allegations and family court can be two peas in a pod, when it comes to providing a platform for sociopathic women to railroad innocent men.

Two weeks after getting a DV restraining order against HER, I was once falsely accused of rape by a sociopathic Borderline woman I dated, and briefly lived with. Thankfully, since it came 2 weeks after I had her removed from my house by law enforcement on the DV restraining order, it gained no traction. She then found a white knight who came to her rescue, and thought I was the bad guy. She later pulled a similar stunt on him, except this time, she alleged he was "inappropriate" with her teenage daughter. I was just happy this white knight fool helped get her out of my life and make her "not my problem" anymore.

In my experience you are correct that a clever sociopath can fool almsot anyone for a little while. (The Percy Harvin story... a sociopathic Borderline, IMO, he fooled Pete and John for a little while) These people have a *playbook* of cons and strategies that they run over and over again. When the people around them get wise, they move to a new group to victimize, and they have several pages in their playbook to keep their new group from fact-checking with the old group. They lead a charmed life in their dealings with "the system", because they typically become experts at gaming the system to their advantage, and using its power against unsuspecting victims.

For all I know, Hardy could be a Narcissist flavor of sociopath. Borderlines and Narcissists can actually be soul mates, especially a Narcissist man and a Borderline woman. They "get" each other. If the and Ms. Holder get back together, that would be a sign... I tend to think Hardy is a regular guy who got around the wrong psychochick, got hooked on the incredible sex, let her move in with him, and then got lit up by her when he pulled the plug and told her to get out. I've seen this play from the Borderline playbook before.

In any case, it's all a moot point now with Hardy signing with the Cowboys. /Thread.

I'm sure the district court doesn't want to release the information because it would be an embarrassment to them, the flimsy and internally inconsistent evidence that was used to "convict" Hardy in the bench "trial". The trial was, "she says...", "he says..." and the judge says, "My job is to protect women from DV. I believe the woman. Guilty."

The original proceeding sounds like it was handled by a lower-level family court type of "judge" who is somewhere between traffic court and and "real judge". I take it they are now trying to cover up their sloppiness and the biased processes they routinely use. They go to great lengths to protect their own. If there were any truly credible evidence from that "trial", you can bet they'd trip all over themselves trying to be the first to get it in the NFL's hands.

I doubt he is innocent, in fact he was ruled guilty by a judge in a bench trial.
Now is she a gold digging psychotic loon who loves drama and chaos? Possible, but I'm not going to blame the possible victim unless more info comes out against her.........and don't get me wrong I sympathize with your past situation and I am aware that happens a lot.

While athletes are often targets there is the other side of the coin where they get away with a ton, see Jeramy Stevens as exhibit A. Not buying the "Hardy is a saint theme", that many (not you) are selling.

Olyfan63, thank you for sharing your experiences. Those are awful situations I wouldn't wish on anyone. It could have been much easier to type, "HATC, you're naive" and leave it at that, but then no one would have learned anything. I am naive and have no experience with that kind of thing so I appreciate you taking the time and illustrating the realities that inform your point of view. I'll hang on to my ideals and principles; I'll also take info like yours into account going forward. I'll never stop being educated in all areas of life and I really appreciate that the conversations here at .NET contribute to that regularly.

Do all of you realize that this Dale Hansen character shares exactly ZERO new or different information about the facts of the Hardy case? All he does is repeat, basically just REPEATEDLY SHRIEK, the "party line propaganda" a bunch of times with a few emotional manipulation techniques mixed in.
All this Dale Hansen manipulator does is NAME-CALL, call Hardy a woman beater, with NO BASIS IN SWORN TESTIMONY that has ever been shared publicly. The North Carolina judiciary is doing their best to keep it under wraps.

This is NO DIFFERENT than the Duke Lacrosse case. Read about that here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Duke_lacrosse_case

I just NOTICED A PATTERN HERE....
DUKE LACROSSE CASE JURISDICTION=>NORTH CAROLINA
GREG HARDY CASE==>NORTH CAROLINA

Seriously, WAKE UP PEOPLE... there's something rotten in the NORTH CAROLINA JUDICIAL "SYSTEM" on these kinds of cases and issues that leads to men being railroaded. In this case, the N.C. DA saw what happened to this Wilfong clown, and thought better of pursuing a bogus case against Hardy. Hell, the DA probably told Holder to flake and not testify, to give himself an out from pursing a bogus case.

From Wikipedia (with my headlines):

FIRST, THE FALSE ALLEGATIONS AND NO FACT CHECKING

"In March 2006, Crystal Gail Mangum, an African-American student at North Carolina Central University[1][2] who worked as a stripper,[3] dancer and escort, falsely accused three white students, members of the Duke Blue Devils men's lacrosse team, of raping her at a party held at the house of two of the team's captains in Durham, North Carolina, on March 13, 2006. Many people involved in, or commenting on the case, including prosecutor Michael "Mike" Nifong, either called the alleged assault a hate crime or suggested it might be one.[4][5][6][7]"

THEN THE RUSH BY "ENLIGHTENED" UNIVERSITY ADMINISTRATORS TO PUNISH THE "GUILTY" PLAYERS

"In response to the allegations Duke University suspended the lacrosse team for two games on March 28, 2006. On April 5, 2006, Duke lacrosse coach Mike Pressler was forced to resign under threat by athletic director Joe Alleva and Duke President Richard Brodhead canceled the remainder of the 2006 season."

AND HOW DID ALL THIS TURN OUT ONCE THE FACTS STARTED COMING OUT?

On April 11, 2007, North Carolina Attorney General Roy Cooper dropped all charges and declared the three players innocent. Cooper stated that the charged players – Reade Seligmann, Collin Finnerty, and David Evans – were victims of a "tragic rush to accuse."[8] The initial prosecutor, Durham County, North Carolina District Attorney Michael Nifong, labeled a "rogue prosecutor" by Cooper, withdrew from the case in January 2007 after the North Carolina State Bar filed ethics charges against him. In June 2007, Nifong was disbarred for "dishonesty, fraud, deceit and misrepresentation", making him the first prosecutor in North Carolina disbarred for trial conduct. Nifong served one day in jail for lying about sharing DNA tests (criminal contempt); the lab director said it was a misunderstanding and Nifong claimed it was due to weak memory.[9]

WHAT HAPPENED TO THE FALSE ACCUSER? SHE WENT TO JAIL FOR HER CRIME, RIGHT?

Mangum faced no charges for her false accusations as Cooper declined to prosecute her.[10]"

IMO, the Greg Hardy "case" looks a lot like "Duke Lacrosse 2.0". The difference is that it was a lower court judge who was in a rush to ignore facts and fail to fact-check, instead of university administrators.

Am I saying Greg Hardy is a saint? HELL NO. Am I saying Greg Hardy maybe didn't slap her back once or twice when drunk psychochick-on-coke was rampaging and throwing and breaking things in his house, and beating on him, as the agressor? Actually, I think he probably DID do something like that. Is that Domestic Violence, or self-defense? Let a JURY decide, based on sworn testimony and evidence.

This Dale Hansen character is a FRAUD and a CYNICAL, MANIPULATIVE CLOWN in this video. It's all about getting attention, inflaming emotions, and getting ratings.

DALLAS MAYOR MIKE RAWLINGS GOES ON RECORD *AGAINST* GREG HARDY

http://cityhallblog.dallasnews.com/2015 ... -gut.html/

Greg Hardy, you thought you were going to PLAY football, but sorry to inform you dude, YOU *ARE* the football, i.e, YOU are the "POLITICAL FOOTBALL" for the NFL and the politicians.

Rawlings, once again, offers NO NEW INFORMATION about the Greg Hardy case, and simply repeats politically-driven MEDIA TALKING POINTS.

Politicians are a cynical, calculating lot. For Rawlings to attack Hardy is the political courage equivalent of picking a fight with a grade school girl in a wheelchair--an easy target who won't really be able to fight back.

For the record, what I think is the most likely scenario:
=============================================
1) This girl is a gold-digging Borderline Personality Disorder (most likely) psychobitch

2) She's amazing in the sack and Hardy got hooked on that to the point of making bad decisions

3) She was screwing or trying to screw Nelly too, and that pissed off Hardy so he was in the process of attempting to dump her

4) In the process of being dumped by Hardy, she had a coke-and-alcohol fueled meltdown, went on a physical rampage at his place, breaking things, hitting him, screaming at him, etc.

5) Somewhere in the mess, Hardy very well may have slapped her, pushed her, etc., stuff that if unprovoked, would absolutely be DV; in this context, I think a *JURY*, in a CRIMINAL trial would most likely judge as self-defense against an aggressor.

6) In the bench trial, by a glorified traffic court judge, Hardy may have admitted pushing or slapping her in self-defense to get her off him => instant "Guity!" from a "DV Advocate" judge, disregarding the self-defense angle.

7) Hardy is damn lucky he has millions, because any other ordinary guy who couldn't pay hundreds of thousands in legal fees would have been rung up and hung out to dry and had his life turned upside down even more than Hardy has, and it would take YEARS to bounce back economically.

8 ) The North Carolina jurisdiction is fighting releasing the testimony because it will be embarrassing for them if the world finds out how flimsy the evidence is and what an unsympathic gold-digging, calculating bitch this Nicole Holder probably is.

My predicted outcome:
- The North Carolina court won't release the bench trial "evidence" and testimony, citing "privacy of the victim".
- The NFL will make noise about their frustration of not being able to get the trial evidence
- The NFL will issue a statement grudgingly saying they have to reduce or waive Hardy's suspension, because they can't get the "evidence" released by the NC court.
- Hardy will be suspended no more than 4 games to start the season, if at all
- Hardy will have a high-impact Pro-Bowl-level year, or very near, for the Cowboys. This is a dude who's rested, physically healthy and highly motivated.
- Once football starts, the world will largely forget the whole mess, and it will fade into he-said, she-said oblivion, new news cycles, etc.
