Patrick Queen, Geno Stone, Jadeveon Clowney

This would be two core players, Diggs and Bobby replacements.

Chances we get 2 or 3 of them pretty good!

Well since Queen could of been our guy in the first place...why not? No thanks to Clowney imo..been down that road before.

Queen isn't worth the price. Macdonald was the only guy to make him serviceable, but he hardly elevated their unit. I'd rather look elsewhere than get caught in that UFA contract. Brooks is better.

Jadeveon would be a hell of a get.

In a contract year..not saying he's terrible but has a history of showing up when he wants to
Calling this "a contract year" is quite a stretch. He's mostly been on one year deals since he left Houston. He played in all 17 games this past season, and in both playoff games. Had 9.5 sacks and cost Baltimore a little under 5 million when it was all said and done. From a value perspective and with the same coach he had in Baltimore, he would be an incredible addition.

So why the reluctance by teams to sign him to anything long term?

Mostly Clowney's own preference. He doesn't like being locked down and has been taking a series of high-priced prove it deals for half a decade. Total mercenary.
Agreed.

I personally have always liked Clowney and was over the moon when he came to Seattle, even if it was only for one season. His absolute demolition of the 49ers was sweet.

He's a wrecking ball. A rare prototype that you can move all over, set an edge with, stand him up, put him in a 3 or 4 point stance.. just whatever. Dude is solid enough to do any of it. My kinda player.

A little bit of a loner, but that's alright. You can have a couple of 'em as long as they perform.

When healthy, Clowney is a monster. He would be great here. His tenure in Seattle was marred with injuries. Even injured, he dominated the 49ers and Eagles....both teams the Seahawks are looking to catch currently. He would also help Mafe, Hall, and other young players. He would be a Leo Williams type of addition to the OLB/Edge position.

Clowny a salty Leo who is a high iq player and run stuffer as well, but his biggest asset is his loose cannon ability in the 4th quarter and hi veteran savvy to work well games along the line, an addition greater than the some of his parts that will save his juice for the right games and be valuable down the stretch.
