Cam Newton vs the Seahawks in 5 career games.
2012 Week 5: 12/29 41.38% for 141 yds 0 td 0 int 7 rushes 52 yds
2013 week 1: 16/23 69.57% for 125 yds 1 td 0 int 5 rushes 38 yds
2014 week 8: 12/22 54.55% for 171 yds 0 td 1 int 12 rushes 24 yds
2014 week 18: 23/36 63.89% for 246 yds 2 td 2 int 11 rushes for 37 yds
2015 week 6: 20/36 55.56% for 269 yds 1 td 2 int 7 rushes for 30 yds
I just don't see this guy being scary for us. I think he has the potential to make big plays, but he's never really done anything vs Seattle. If our defense can tackle running backs like they did last week and keep Carolina out of 3rd and 1 or 2, and force Cam to pass, it seems like he should remain within his averages against us.
They haven't added any weapons. If anything, their RB is a bit hobbled from his foot injury and Tedd Ginn has been hurting to.
On paper and based on recent history, we should expect Cam to have a line of:
16.6/29.2 56% completion for 190 yards 0.8 TD 1 Int and 8.4 rushes for 36.2 yards.
I completely understand that paper has nothing to do with Sunday morning but with 5 games in 4 years against essentially the same exact defense, this is an average day for Cam. Not really scary. 3 of the games in these statistics were home games as well.
