There is a very real attitude against new members around here and it just needs to stop.

I agree with that, but also look at it from this point of view: people with high post counts or join dates from when we
moved over here from Scout are people that have invested a lot of time and energy into this little site and see it as
our home. You say "get a life" but for us, this site and the people we have developed friendships with over the
years IS very much a part of our lives.

New members who start blazing away and posting everywhere are entering a culture that was established long ago.
Just like entering any new culture, it is wise to be careful where you tread until you get used to the established norms.
If you've been lurking for four years and haven't learned that, then .net is not a part of your life. Fair enough, but leave
us and your judgements alone, then.

The bandwagon is one thing I really love when your team gets on a roll. The whole state buys in and there is a buzz that catches everybody.I love it.
I think its funny a saints fan brings that up.Talk about a nation wide bandwagon filling up fast.I remember half full stadiums with idiots wearing bags on their heads.
As far as the elitist attitude. There is some of that from some posters.I have read comments knocking post counts on occasion, they are getting rare thankfully.Hell some of the smartest football people I know have 0 posts here.

There's always been "true fan" debates on this board but good thing the mods nip those in the bud pretty quick.

This year is special. Everyone is welcome to enjoy the awesomeness that is our seahawks.

I've been on here since 2007. I live in the Shack. I wished we allowed porn still.

Bandwagoners welcome! I think you'll learn that this team (the Seahawks and the players that currently play for them) is pretty special.

So special that you might just end your wandering and stay. Go Hawks! :thirishdrinkers:

As in every other facet of life, there's no need to get hung up on labels.

Marvel on this for a minute: Thousands of little kids out there want to identify with winners. Some will come and go, but think about how many lifelong Seahawks fans are being made during this amazing season. So many kids who look around at their taller classmates are identifying with MVP-calibre Russell Wilson, his high-flying 'Hawks, and dreaming big.

This is just the beginning, friends. The blue and green is getting into people's veins.

I'm glad most of you enjoyed the picture for what it was. A laugh. You have to look at it form my buddies perspective. His team has enjoyed the doldrums for years and then have become the poster child for the little engine that could since Katrina. He's seen it. The half empty stadiums, the bags. Hell he even had a bag for game days. But everyone loves NO now. Because you can cheer for them and not be ridiculed about how they suck. I wear a lanyard around my neck that has the Seahawk logo. For the longest time it was "Oh sorry your a seahag fan." Now its "Hey you guys are going to the Superb Owl!"

Anyone who jumps on now, "the bandwagoner", welcome aboard. And not to try and sound all Love Boaty, but we've been expecting you. Hang on and enjoy the trip! Eventually some will fall off the wagon, it happens but others will ride it like a cheap circus pony!

My own son is a Steeler fan. Gasp! No! Yes. Why? Because when he got interested in football, they were winning, and everyone at his school was talking about them. Now everyone at his school is talking about Russell Wilson and the Seahawks! And he's starting to jump on. Hey, is he a bandwagoner, sure, its like Rockhawk(?) and Hawkaround said, that's how they all start. It's my job to keep him on and show him the way!

The more fans, the louder. Just don't spill the beer and remember to cheer.

I think the term "bandwagoner" is often misapplied to what are really just new fans
Guilty. I kinda thought the two terms were synonymous, with "bandwagoner" having a negative connotation -- which is why I felt compelled to make the point that there is nothing inherently wrong with them.

But you're right -- "new fan" is more accurate and appropriate in a lot of cases.

Cannot there be fans since day one that choose not to be part of this occluded mess?

Seahawks.net= Self entitled high post elitists who believe their opinions are worth something.

Your high post count just means that you have NO LIFE.

Bandwagon? Priceless.

"I hang out here and post incessantly" GET A LIFE.

Welcome fans.

And get off your high horse Elitists. We get it, you're
"special."

Thank you. I humbly accept your praise. But, we know as the Holy Ones that the new converts are necessary to keep the spirit alive. Bless you son.
