Who will be our backup QB since cutting all three backup candidates?

When the Clowney trade is finalized opening up a roster spot, I predict that Geno will be re-signed.

Condotta is pointing out that

1) We are trading 2 players for 1 and the trade isn't finalized so we are technically down a roster spot
2) Geno is veteran so doesn't go to waiver but is immediate FA
3) We could have a deal to resign him tomorrow when trade is final as that creates the extra roster spot

According to seahawks.com QB Gino Smith has also been released. This leaves us with no backup QB.

Look for yourself.

If anything he owns a car dealership or two.

I'm betting on #3. Geno is a vet who knows the ropes. They prolly have a handshake deal for him to stick around.

Seems doubtful some team would sign him as a starter at this late date, and I doubt he has PS eligibiltiy.

I think if they resign him after he's been cut/waived and hopefully falls through, they don't have to do a guaranteed contract.

This, but there's no waivers on him. He is a free agent if he wants to sign somewhere.

Right now there is a 32 person chess match going on with every GM trying to guess everyone's else moves.

Correct answer although Peterman looked just as good.
No, no, no, no, no.....

What are we, the Buffalo Bills?

The Peterman M.O: Shine in the preseason, then when it counts, come on and train-wreck in the most spectacular fashion.

I'm sorry but this player is not NFL, XFL or CFL calibre.
He does however have some weird hypnotizing power that convinces head coaches that he's legit.

Maybe, but Peterman doesn't know the playbook. Probably end up re-signing Geno, I doubt he'll want to up and go somewhere else and start fresh with a new offense.

But I admit, the NFL rules here are a bit ridiculous.

we need to make sure all eyes are on us. We'll sign Kapernick!

In reality I'm hoping we take Geno Back. He looked competent with a decent team around him. He knows the offense and his deep passes were pretty good. He looked good in San Diego ...er... Los Angeles last season too.
