Looks like Waldron is bringing Andy Dickerson along with him to be the run game coordinator. Dickerson is also unproven but will be a great resource if Waldron is trying to recreate the McVay offense as closely as possible. I would have liked to see us bring in a more experienced veteran, but we'll still have Solari and probably a handful of consultants.

Can he also bring Jalen Ramsey with him?

Dang, he was with the Rams for 9 years. Almost thought this thread title was a joke  To have two of their coaching staff go to a divisional rival has to sting a bit. But that's the biz I guess.

Love it. Love everything about it.

Based on this, I'm guessing Pete is retaining a significant amount of control of the overall direction of the offense, but leaving it to a couple of talented guys with a rapport to achieve that how they want. I'm expecting a lot of staple personnel groups and looks with several different concepts within - tons of plays out of sweep motion, play action, etc. It's gonna be easier on everyone to execute.

After the search narrowed, Waldron was my top choice. The fact that he's getting a guy he's totally familiar with as his run game coord. indicates that it was probably Waldron's preferred guy, so I'm hopeful he's going to get to build a new attack.

EDIT: One thing this might hint at is Solari possibly leaving. The line Solari built with Seattle is pretty different compared to a line McVay would want. If they're going full overhaul to a Rams-style offense where we see an offense that builds on a few core concepts, we might see an archetype change from big mauling guys to more agile guys who can move better laterally in zone blocks. Either Solari's fully on board, or they're gonna adjust and build on a different type of attack that utilizes current personnel.

Good article here dissecting some X-and-O stuff of the Rams attack in 2018. Details how everything builds off of the zone run concepts, which can branch off into several different boot concepts. Does this not seem tailor-made to fit Russell Wilson's skillset?

Interesting to see how much flexibility we have to overhaul the o-line if needed. Even before this, I would have been disappointed if we didn't replace Iupati. Obviously Lewis is set at RG. I thought Pocic was fine at C but those who know o-line play better than (which is a lot of people) might say otherwise. Isn't it normally the interior guys who do a lot of the pulling and trapping?

Dickerson will be very interesting. I think Pocic may be better suited under him. Pocic is not a power guy, and he stunk after his mid season injury. Still young enough to be a piece of the puzzle.

Damn, Rams losing their pass and run game coordinators. That’s rough.

You're onto something there regarding Pocic. I seem to recall a similar type of outside zone being a staple of the LSU offense back when Pocic and Fournette were there, and Pocic was drafted when Cable was OL coach. More zone concepts would probably be a welcome development for him.
