And just like that, we're 1.5 back of Oakland now after they won in 13 inn. We've lost 16 of 24 and have scored the 2nd least amount of runs of all teams in that span.

Mediocre starting pitching and 5/9 of the lineup is poor = Collapse 2018.

Welcome to August, where Seattle has had a winning record only six times this century (starting with the 2000 season).

lol funny cause I text into 950 KJR when they asked listeners “do you still have hope the mariners will make the playoffs?” They read mine on the air and absolutely flamed me for losing hope. They can blame the atmosphere all they want but the product on the field isn’t worth spending the money to watch live. I was on vividseats looking at a Saturday game in mid August. 65 dollars for section 109 row 38, plus tax, plus service charge, plus parking, plus beer.... well over 150 dollars to attend a ballgame, and that’s just 1 seat. I’ll pass and watch on tv. 150 bucks to watch your team get beat down live by one of the worst teams in baseball? I rather chew broken glass

It's not too late to turn it around, but if both us and Oakland keep this up, the race for the wild card could be over by the end of August. Apparently there was a players meeting after the loss tonight, so I'm curious to see how we respond. This is basically a must win game. We got our ace on the mound and are desperate for a win. It's too bad the trade deadline wasn't a month later, because we possibly could have sold rather than bought.

Just get this team out of Seattle and give us a basketball team. The Sonics have been gone for more than a decade and in that time have made the playoffs just as many times at the Mariners.

I love the game of baseball, but this team right now with their uncanny ability to make no name pitchers look like the second coming of cy young is seriously pissing me off. They are boring as $&@% right now to watch!

1 hit thru 7 innings? really????

This feels like the M’s from five years ago when you felt the game was over if they fell behind by two runs early. At this point Felix is the least of our worries. Wouldn’t matter if we had cy young Felix or todays Felix, you can’t win if you can’t score runs. Just an embarrassing home stand. Baseball is a fun sport, but only if you put a decent product on the field. At least basketball and football can be fun to watch when you struggle. I may not watch another full game.

Last season I was given the side eye when I tried to start a Fire Servais hire Edgar chant. This season when I still insisted they move on from Scott everyone told me the M's look great keep a good thing going. Now that they have given him a nice extension we're witnessing e same old M's.

We will know their fate by the end of the next road trip....my guess is 18 years and the end of Felix's no playoff career.

I will hold on to a flicker of hope but....

Couldn't agree more. This is why I was so cautious earlier this season. They always seem to rip our hopes and dreams up and flush them down the toilet. This year has been a nightmare, and there's no sugarcoating it. Cano being a complete bonehead, guys who were supposed to bring promise and completely crapping the bed, bad, bad, bad roster moves, and worst of all, IMO, was the extensions given to Dipoto and Servais. I've never seen anything of substance out of these two. When news broke of their extensions, I felt just like the poor schmuck in the infamous Jacksonville Jaguars GIF. Seriously, that was pretty much my reaction. Just completely dumbfounded.

Everyone wants the sonics back but nobody wants the M's gone, even if you arent a hardcore baseball fan nobody is calling for the removal of the M's. Though now that the city of seattle put themselves in such a hole and can't put any money towards cool things like Safeco Field, they might be moving anyway.....nah i dont really think they would move, but that's lame as hell to say they should move. Nobody is stopping you from not watching baseball. Plenty of vids on youtube of lebron losing in the finals for you to watch until NBA starts up again.

3 hits. Just pathetic. 2.5 back but it might as well be 8 because we're not catching Oakland. This season is turning into a big punch in the gut.

Well yeah my post was an overreaction. Obviously I want both basketball and baseball here. But if I were given the chance to trade away the Mariners to bring the Sonics back, it would be an easy decision. I’m just tired of Seattle being home to the laughing stock of baseball.

lol I like him, but you never know when he’s gonna agree/disagree with you and bury you on air. I wonder if he will be in such a great optimistic mood come 3 o’ clock Monday :stirthepot: specially if the Ms get swept today by one of the worst teams in baseball at home!!! Schedule is tougher from here on out. Hopes fading. Every year I get my hopes up just get a bag over my head, punched in the stomach, thrown to the floor, and ridiculed

Awesome, they managed not to get swept. Hopefully they can build off of yesterdays win. We got three games with the Rangers, if we can't take two from them then we have no business being in the playoffs. I'm hoping we can win our series, and hopefully the Dodgers can at least split with Oakland. Not happy to see Oakland continuing to make additions to their team, they got Mike Fiers off waivers today. He would have been a huge upgrade to our rotation. Even though it feels like we are all but done, the season should still come down to our games against Oakland. On a side note, the Yankees are sliding fast, I doubt we can catch them, but I do think Oakland will pass them.
