Thanks Jville, the roster churn is continuing and I'd expect it to continue all season as the team is not cap strapped like last year and JS can continue to sift the castoff pile for players worth keeping or who fit with our scheme.

Updated.

EDIT: The return of OL Marcus Henry in the aftermath of the loss of two offensive tackles may feed speculation that the versatile Ethan Pocic may see some snaps at tackle.

Just about every one of the DBs and most of players the Hawks have here are scooped up by other teams after they are released by the team. It speaks well of the regard the league has for the Hawks personnel offices.

At this stage until the team posts their 'Official DC' I'm not going to change the OP. To me it's pretty close to what we have from Condotta.

It is interesting however.

OG- Avery Young who was earlier waived and then reverted to IR has now been waived with an injury settlement.

Thanks Jville just noticed that transaction as well.

I guess this means that Jordan is likely going to be longer in returning than initially believed.

They seem to have a lot of interest in veteran players who can teach and help with technique and tells. That was mentioned in the training camp video today with regards to Brandon Marshall's impact and considerable insight he is providing to quarterbacks and coaches in addition to receivers.

So, they are likely inviting a similar impact by Erik Walden on players and coaches with regard to pass rush.

Wonder who will be a corresponding cut?

At present I've listed Walden as a Leo DE, updated.

Thanks for that info on Hamm Jville.

I appreciate that Walden is listed around the league as a OLB and maybe the team will use him like that here. However, the weak spot as far as present depth is the Leo end which is what he's probably being looked at to play.

The corresponding release for the signing of Walden is now Marcus Smith 11.

I'd hoped the team would see something from both Smith and from Jordan but so far no joy.

Here are the rest of the roster moves as reported by John Boyle of TNT:

#Seahawks sign LB Erik Walden, RB Justin Stockton. Terminated contractor DE Marcus Smith. Waived CB Elijah Battle. @thenewstribune

A little disappointed that Smith's transition to linebacker didn't evolve as envisioned. His contract termination does move $400K in active cap money to the dead cap category while liberating and increasing the cap space by $1,010.945.

CB Elijah Battle only lasted 5 days. I think it increasingly obvious that belief in the strength of they're defensive backfield has grown as they emerge from training camp.
