KC had no running game. Pete is going to run the hell outta the ball and wear down that Dline.
It should be similar to last year high scoring back and forth.KC had no running game. Pete is going to run the hell outta the ball and wear down that Dline.
Let the Cris Collinsworth slobbering over Patrick Mahomes begin.
Reid going for it on 4th and 25 had more to do with him having more confidence in Mahomes than in his defense stopping the Lions which they didn’tI haven't gone through all the comments, so I apologize if the answers are somewhere in this thread, but I have two questions about last night's game:
The first one is how in the hell can the Chiefs right tackle get away with two very obvious violations that even the announcers picked up on and Terry McCaulley confirmed that he wasn't lining up on the LOS in passing situations? In addition, he was clearly jumping early on nearly every passing play, finally getting called for it late in the game. That line judge needs to be reprimanded. Embarrassing officiating performance.
The second one is WTF was Andy Reid doing by going for it on 4th and 25 from his own 30 north of the 2-minute warning and with all 3 of his timeouts? Is that what analytics told him to do?
Man, the Lions are a completely different team than the one we beat 45-42 last season, especially their defense. Adian Hutchinson is the next Nick Bosa. How I wish we had a DL like him! He was in Mahomes face all night long.
And you gotta love Dan Campbell. Did anyone catch his halftime interview? The guy reminds me a lot of Pete Carroll except he's more physically imposing and 20 some years younger. He ran shivers up my spine listening to him. He's like a little kid on a sugar high, as excited as a one-armed ping pong player with crabs.
I'm not buying that. The Lions punted 5 times and their offense scored just twice. There was no reason for Reid to believe that his defense couldn't stop the Lions. What are the odds of converting on 4th and 25?Reid going for it on 4th and 25 had more to do with him having more confidence in Mahomes than in his defense stopping the Lions which they didn’t
I was only watching the game here and there, but Tirico was actually annoying me more last night than Collinsworth. I was so irked when he said, "this Sunday, we have Dallas and the Giants. That just sounds and feels like Sunday night football!"I would have thought so too, but I watched most of the first half, and it sounded to me like Collinsworth was rooting for the Lions.
I dislike Collinsworth. I put him on the lowest level, down there with Troy Aikman and Joe (dum)B(f)uck.

I don't understand all the Collinsworth hate, I actually enjoy listening to him on Sunday nightsI was only watching the game here and there, but Tirico was actually annoying me more last night than Collinsworth. Oh, do you mean the NFL Network or ESPN?Same! That was so annoying.
Then it switched to my local Dallas news station after and: More about Cowboys.
Ick.
I think it's all the, "Wow! Did you see that?! This is the best player to ever do it ... until the next game that I'm calling" slobbering that gets under people's skin.I don't understand all the Collinsworth hate, I actually enjoy listening to him on Sunday nights
That's their job, to fill the telecast with as much hype as possible, and it's been done by every play-by-play and color man since I can remember, and I've been watching football for over 60 years. Howard Cosell used to make a game between two 3-10 teams sound like it was a prelude to the Super Bowl. John Madden, in his early years, was so hyper that he could out-do Tirico and Collingsworth in his sleep.I think it's all the, "Wow! Did you see that?! Then you must remeber Curt Gowdy and Keith Jackson. Those guys were great and never seemed to be annoying. That's their job, to fill the telecast with as much hype as possible, and it's been done by every play-by-play and color man since I can remember, and I've been watching football for over 60 years. I don't let it bother me. Their calling of the game is secondary, almost like background music. I can figure out what's going on without them telling me and their comments only reinforce what I've already observed. The only time an announcer really annoyed me was when Dennis Miller was teamed up with Al Michaels. Otherwise, the quality of the announcers isn't a big deal with me.
Yep. I remember both those guys. Then you must remeber Curt Gowdy and Keith Jackson. Those guys were great and never seemed to be annoying.
Say all you want. At the end of the day, the Lions got the job done and the Chiefs didn't."We are built for winning when the opposing team doesn't have their best receiver and drops multiple easy catches, including one that would have put them in field-goal range to win it at the end of the game!"
