I felt better about how the team handled the Bobby situation after watching the video. Call me crazy but Bobby’s play had dropped off for a couple of years. Yeah the stats were there but there was a reason teams were targeting passing over the middle right at him. One of my favorite players, and nothing will change that in my mind. True to the Blue. But, Bobby the agent needed to head to Seattle and have that conversation to find out if there was a chance to come back in another role. Both parties share blame.

To me the interview suggests an awareness, early on, that Booby knew the team was going to turn the page and move on. I surmise that it unfolded slowly before his eyes over the course of weeks. Had to be emotionally taxing for everyone.

This happens quite often. If anything, it shows how much Russ respects B-dubz.

Did you watch the video?
It has zero to do with Russell Wilson. Hint..it's about Bobby Wagner...getting released..and the insulting treatment endured from the organization; one he clearly loves.
hint: you watched or heard onyl what you wanted to.

thats more likely the case here. as someone else said, bobby COULD have gotten on the plane for a meeting but he didnt. As said before Bobby the Agent failed Bobby the player.

But doesn't love enough to get on a plane to have a face to face conversation.

This has always been a problem with Seattle sports, fans tend to hold on too tight and too long to players to the detriment of their opinion of the organization. I am not saying that the Seahawks couldn't have handled it better, but pretending Bobby was a blindsided saint in this is naive. He couldn't even hide the mistakes he made in this interview.
That's just it, I love the hell out of Bobby Wagner the Player, but Bobby Wagner the Negotiation Agent wasn't doing his due diligence, by keeping his client at the ready for conversation...I think he expected that John and or Pete would just float him the time to negotiate, believing that he had some leverage.
I mean this was SUPPOSED to be a two way conversation...BOTH SIDES DROPPED THE BALL.
Now as for the Russell Wilson not being aware of the likelihood of HIS trade to the Donko's John63 said that it was his belief, that it was PETE CARROLL who forced him out at the last moments, so the timeline on RW's trying to recruit BW... DAYS BEFORE the actual trade? ...NO ONE PLAYER is more important than the TEAM.
I know that for some of y'all, it would be wonderful to have a minute by minute inside info-flow coming from the Seahawks organization, but I think it's pretty obvious, that there's a hell of a lot that goes on behind the scenes that we as fans aren't privy to...IT'S A BUSINESS, and sometimes things happen very fast...LOT'S OF MOVING PARTS & PERSONALITIES.

The disrespect narrative is complete BS and the interview proves it.

The ‘I heard from others’ is nothing but speculation and rumors driven by the inescapable fact that something had to happen given his bloated contract and declining play.

The FO clearly had the conversation (remote by Bobby’s choice) before the transaction. I’m not the biggest fan of our FO, however, I really don’t see what they could have done to appease Bobby other than continue to overpay him.

It's hard for me to suddenly dislike Russ because he's out for himself. Who isn't? Let's be honest. "Go Hawks!" was the slogan he chose for the role he was playing as the franchise QB of the Seattle Seahawks. Now it's "Broncos Country, Let's Ride!". He's a company man through and through, period. He's all about his persona, his brand, his "legacy". Meh. He's not a leopard that changed his spots. He's who he is and he is who he always will be. I salute him for his service to our team and community. Now he is officially a memory. Godspeed Russ. You do you. Just kind of suck this year so we get a higher draft pick in 2023.

Man, I'd love to see that section in the Seattle Seahawks HR manual that says "notifying an employee of their termination is optional. Sometimes it's best left to the rumour mill or speculation from the press"

I've donated or destroyed all Wilson merchandise.

He broke my heart.

You should be mad at Jody, not Wilson. She kept the wrong person. Russ had to leave. He saw they were keeping Carroll and he knew the team wasnt going to go anywhere with him as the head coach.

It is weird that people are calling Wilson out for not disclosing the trade a week before the trade, but not mentioning that Pete himself said he had no intention of trading Wilson either - when we were clearly moving to trade him.

Shouldn't be a shock why Bobby wouldn't want to follow. Wilson is leaving a defensively minded HC who was squandering his ability...to go to team with a new HC, that is offensively minded. That is great for Russ but probably not great for someone like Wagner.

And that is in a competitive division.

But honestly, considering Bobby's reaction it feels like he didn't follow because some tiny bit of him still thought he might still be staying.

Can't blame Bobby, a Defensive HOF, for not wanting to go to a new landing place in a more competitive division with a question mark at HC that may not be defensive-minded at all.

And now he gets to stick it to the Hawks 2x a year while being in a much easier division + having a better chance at making the SB

I'm biased as an Aggie (USU), but seriously....

This franchise is pushing 50 years of existence and there are not heaps of people who don't have Bobby in the top 5 greatest Hawks of all time and virtually NOBODY has him out of the top 10. I feel lucky to have watched him play for a decade in Seattle. Clearly his high character and propensity for no drama was a stabilizing factor on some really great teams.

If there is ever a he said/he said moment between Bwags and anyone else, I'm taking Bobby. Every single time.

Did you guys watch the interview? Bobby's not mad and neither should you be.

It was widely speculated that Bobby would be a cap casualty this offseason, so he had several months to prepare for that possibility. We all did.

We will never know if Bobby had attended the face to face if it would have been a restructuring or renegotiation conversation either. We do know it would be big news no matter what.

And if Bobby told them he already knew what they were going to say, I can imagine people in the room could have walked away thinking Bobby was already notified and started gossiping away.

The bottom line is I'm not surprised the announcement got muddled since Bobby and the Seahawks never got to discuss it.

The only he said / he said is Bobby v Bobby.

Bobby Twitter : They didn’t tell me, I heard through the grapevine.

Bobby Interview: They tried to tell me, I said don’t bother.

It’s been said to death…everyone involved knew it was coming, only delusional fans thought 20 mil was palatable.

I know that if I were being let go from my longterm place of employment, I could only have 100% expectation that this notification would come in person, or at the very, very, very least, a telephone conversation.
At my last job, I worked with a guy who had been there for years. One Monday he clocked in and got to work, then couldn't get his email to work. After a couple hours he went to the shop manager and asked about his email. The reply? "Oh, didn't anyone tell you? You've been fired." Brutal. (He hadn't done anything wrong, either.)

I am here just don't see anything worth commenting about. everyone is filling in the gaps as they want the outcome to be. For some, they will see Wilson and guy, for some they will see the truth. So no need to comment.

What your version of the truth? It is really clear Wilson wanted out and made sure it was leaked. He was already trying to recruit Wagner before the trade. What else for a another truth is there?
