Good overall. But, definitely have my reservations. I don’t believe Darnold is going to do any better than Geno. It feels like ‘stop gap to stop gap’.

DK, as much as folks knocked him, is a big loss imo.

If we don’t draft a QB in the next two drafts, I’ll certainly be real confused.

If we draft in the trenches, I’ll also feel like we’re moving in the right direction.

Anxious. My top outside FA target already got away. My second target is apparently weighing his options. We have all this cap space. Now go take care of business FFS.

Good overall, at least the guys are trying to do something

It might not work out ultimately but it’s better than the last few years when it was obvious it wasn’t going to work out

I think the Sam Darnold vs. Geno Smith "trade" is a win, especially at the reported dollar figure, and with the 3rd round pick in our favor. B

I believe we need one of the top interior lineman, and if it ends up taking a couple of days because the market isn't there (and why would it be with so many quality guys available and a deep draft for interior lineman just six weeks away. If they get one of those guys, especially on something less than a "Blockbuster" deal, I'll give them an A.

We need to get a decent value WR in FA prior to the draft, and perhaps another 2nd tier O-lineman, preferably a swing tackle or center.

As for the Draft, with those five top 92 picks, I expect to see QB, OL, DL, WR, and perhaps a Safety or CB. Another OL, TE, WR/PR in rounds 4/5. Give me that and I'm a happy man.

EDIT: I'd also like to add that the current "restructuring" by eliminating the high end salaries of Lockett, Smith, Metcalf, and Jones is a necessity. We have a lot of guys still on rookie contracts that are ending in the next year or two, and many that I would like to see stay around. Gotta clear up Cap space to make that all happen.

I agree with all of this except drafting a QB in this draft. Darnold signing changed that immediate need. Next year is the draft to target QBs.

John was painted in a corner. 3 contracts were coming due with Metcalf, Geno and Lockett. They were big contracts. We could have payed them all with a bunch of magic. To what good would that avail? To remain a fringe team? So we began a reshuffle. I feel good with the picks and cap reduction. It's been a good job. I do want to see a qb drafted. Future is bright. Wasnt much choice Givin the factors at hand. Feeling pretty good overall.

Feels like more of a lateral move and I kind of like Darnold.
I’d rather have an exciting rookie on a rookie deal. But a 3 year deal kind of makes getting a QB this draft as bing too early and Howell was never given a real chance to show what he could do. So, if I had to choose it would be more of a minus than a plus.

I feel good about the direction of the team, but I think 2025 season is going to be rough. Hopefully a couple solid FA signings and a great draft class can get the ship righted for 2026.

About 5 years ago, it became obvious that this team was being held back by having one of the worst, if not the worst, Olines in the NFL. Nothing's changed. If JS does not acquire some decent OL talent this week, I'm all for showing him the door next Monday. I just have a strong feeling 2025 is going to be another season with a bottom-5 OL, and that the quality of play will suffer quite a bit. Unnecessary failure.

I follow and watch the Seahawks for entertainment. 5+ years of this 🐂💩 is taking away the entertainment value and providing too much frustration in its place.
