Zabel: A
The Hawks *NEEDED* to come out of the draft with a rookie who can lock down a spot on the OL. Too many question marks on the OL with too little talent on the team. Normally I wouldn't give an A to a guard this early in the draft, but I know how absolutely crucial it was for the Hawks.

Emmanwori: A
I am almost always against trading up in the draft, but one of the scenarios where it's worth it is if a real talent slips further than expected and it happens to elevate a unit. Safety wasn't necessarily considered a need, but now Safety should be one of our strengths.

Arroyo: D
Sorry, but 2 years lost to injury and only 1 year of production does not add up to a 2nd round pick. There were better, healthier players available at positions of greater need.

Milroe: D
I've always hated drafting gadget players and I still do. We have too many QB, with only 1 being any good (for 1 season as a viking), and this pick doesn't increase the number of viable QBs for us. The Hawks have too many holes to be using premium picks like this.

The first 2 picks prevent this draft from being a bust, but I hate the direction we went after getting Emmanwori. If Schneider doesn't work his late-round magic I don't see this draft making us a playoff team, which is disappointing because 5 picks in the top 100 can do a lot for a team.

This is basically how I feel about it, and for very similar reasons.

Love our first 2 picks, feel like we could have done much better after that.

Like you said, they had 5 picks in top 100. The result of that is one of the top guards in the draft, one of the top safeties, a TE with only 1 year of production due to injuries, and a QB that wasn't a very good passer in college and that is a massive project.

I dunno. Like I said, feels like we could have, (and quite frankly, should have), done much better with what we had to work with.

Zabel: A. Need meets BPA.
Emmanwori: D-. Character and coachability concerns, and getting him cost us a mid-third on a roster that's still in the midst of rebuild, despite what many think.
Arroyo: D. Injured too often.
Milroe: D. Neither QB's nor gadget players should be claiming third-round picks with as many needs as this roster has.

Awful Day 2 for me.

This draft started well, Zabel is awesome and I like what Emmanwori brings to the table. But Arroyou's injury history is not good and HOLY SHEET why are we wasting a pick on a sketchy QB when we just signed a 27 year old Darnold who is in his prime??? With the need to keep fortifying that historically (past decade) weak O-line we have no business pizzing away high draft picks.

If I ever hear anyone say again that Schnieder is an HOF GM I am going to puke all over this board.

B+ overall? What I am seeing is that through 2 days our draft is overall our draft is being liked a lot better outside of here than in here. Not just 1 person liking it but multiple draft analysts

I love most of what we did in the draft. I thought we had bigger needs than another TE when we grabbed Arroyo and thought the pick would be better used elsewhere but the experts seem to like the pick and supposedly he would have gone much higher without injury concerns. Milroe seems like exactly what a ton of people on the board have been wanting for years and now that we drafted him a bunch of people are calling it a wasted pick. Late 3rd rounder for a QB that can sit for a year or two and then possibly be a stud dual threat QB. I am more excited for this season than I have been in a long time. Only shocker is that we didn't grab a WR when we could clearly use another guy. I guess they figure that Arroyo can help fill that slot.

Loved all the picks except Milroe. I despise gadget players and that's his absolute ceiling. Zero shot at ever being a functional passing QB in the NFL.

Zero chance? Um.....ok
Yep. With certainty. If the NCAA was kicking your ass in the biggest part of your job (reading defenses and throwing with accuracy), things don't get easier in that regard in the NFL. It just doesn't happen. The NFL unemployment line is littered with amazing athletes that were drafted in the hopes they would magically become competent passers when they couldn't make it work in college. Make him a scat back and line him up in the slot etc. is the best you're going to get.

And that's a bad thing to have him on the field???? Have you actually seen him play? This kid is lightning fast and one hell of an athlete.

You've posted this. A lot.

You might be right.

He has the things that can't be taught: incredible athleticism and an NFL arm

His struggles are all teachable things in theory. It's not fair to say nobody has ever got the NFL and improved their passing skills. If he can elevate to a decent NFL passer, in the right offensive scheme his ceiling could soar

Worth it to try.

It's almost like there is a pre defined reason for so much hate. Maybe it's the college, or something colorful? That would be a shocker........but we literally took someone with the potential to be an all pro at the most important position in the 3rd round, a complete franchise changer. If it doesn't work as a qb taysum hill is a steal as a 3rd rounder.

Hope springs eternal 🍻🍻🍻
A++++
At this stage of the process I prefer to remain optimistic, time will eventually temper my outlook, it always does. No draft is perfect. But to b***h and moan about picks we don't agree with just seems "uneducated" at worse and "pointless" at best.
"R. Sherman in the 5th?????...WTF????......WR turned CB???....wasted pick!!!!"
"A 5' 10" dwarf at QB in the 3rd????......you gotta be kidding me!!!!"
.......so on and so forth..............

Yeah...some will be proven right. And they won't miss any opportunity to let us know. Others will be very wrong and only a few will eat crow
Fans can fan as they wish....thats their right....
But it never ceases to amuse me JUST HOW RIGHT they are on draft days.......lol

Yeah....If they had drafted Jared Wilson instead of Milroe, I think the Draft is a slam dunk 'A' grade overall.

Oh well....6 out of 7 ain't bad.
