Look, I could be depressing and stick with the U.S. losing these two, but why not dream big?

Also, ever since I started watching soccer like I would watch a basketball game, I have found a new appreciation for it. That fourth Algerian goal was a sweet looking give-and-go like you would see in any basketball game. It's dumb, and I am sure that the soccer experts posting here are rolling their eyes, but this novice is finally seeing the beauty of the passing game in soccer because of his love for basketball.

I'm not sure if it'll happen but I'd like to see the U.S. press early and attack Portugal's defense. Leaving Dempsey on top by himself doesn't do that. He's going to need some help to stretch the back line of Portugal. It's a defensive lineup and I think they are scared of Ronaldo too much. Playing scared usually backfires.

I actually like the way they are playing overall. Other than Cameron's mistake and a couple bad hits on the ball by Bradley and Jermaine Jones on their shots on goal. They've had some nice runs up front. I'd like to see them get a bit closer with their shots on goal. I think what we might be seeing though is just how damn good Germany is. Next game could be ugly.
