He looked near exceptional at yesterday's scrimmage. And he better be or he's not going to fend off the push from Williams. Williams is very similar to Gabriel Dillon. A guy that I believe will vie for the Heisman this year. The guy is short, and I doubt NFLQB is in his future, but that bodes well for our Dawgs (unless someone offers him a bigger bag). I am not overly concerned about Williams stature at this level. He has great feet and knows how to navigate the backfield. I'm a guy that believes a college QB should be able to stretch plays with his feet. In all, I'm super excited about him in purple.
BUT....As pleased as I am with him, I feel equally confident with Rogers. So, all things considered, no doubt I'd start Rogers in '24.
Of course there's a caveat coming. That was a scrimmage and of course the QBs extra protected. Of course I considered that from my seat, but still that didn't alter my perception of their talent(s) very much. Equally stoked with our trio of RBs. That position has been upgraded from last year (no knock on Dillon Johnson...loved that kid).
