Why would anyone be complaining?

Doesn't make much sense that the Vikings would let Darnold go if they didn't think JJ would be ready week 1. They could've franchised him or even signed him to a similar deal that Seattle gave. Literally makes zero sense for them to sign Rodgers outside of not believing in JJ AND Darnold.
That would be a lot of capital to invest in your backup QB. 😲

I believe it's time for another game changing move and hear me out
We hire another coach
One who knows the art of moving people consistently
We get a sumo wrestling coach and begin to teach all our oline and dline the art of pushing guys around
Just like the legion changed the way we looked at certain draft picks for different traits
We could finally stop being destroyed by teams with a heavy ala ravens sized line like GB last year

I'm just curious why anyone would be complaining with the moves in the last couple weeks. DK and Geno were not elite, but we got a 2nd and 3rd while saving a ton of cap space and possibly upgrading with Darnold while getting younger. MVS might be a downgrade from DK but gives a similar play style. Cupp is probably an upgrade from Lockette if you factor in the run first offense while JSN can play inside and outside. Kubiak and Benton are significant upgrades from Grubb and Huff which might help the oline tremendously, which is a young group that can still improve. Added draft picks + comp picks might equal a really good draft. AJ Barner looks like a stud in the making and the RB room might be one of the best in 2025. Tank as a rotational player helps the D-line no matter how you look at it. Knight and Jones great LB combo and they have a full season under Macdonald.

I'm more excited about this team than I've been in a decade. I think 10 wins is the floor. I really don't understand the criticism, this is one of the best off-seasons I've seen. I think Darnold is a perfect match with Kubiak especially with the receivers, RBs, and Barner. Oline will only be better with this play style. Anything less than 12 wins is a disappointment, this team looks special
It's unfortunate but the reality is that fans will always find something to complain, regardless of what fanbase you're in. The fact that just the other day Ravens fans were raging about Harbaugh's extension just proves it: if you don't win the Super Bowl, you're on the hot seat, and if you win the Super Bowl, you won it in spite of your staff.

These moves were needed especially on the offense. You do not want to overpay for players like DK and Geno who didn't do anything to justify the contracts they're getting, or remain loyal to coordinators like Grubb who are literally running a glorified high school offense that is holding our team back.

Welcome, Swift. You'll find out there, that complaining about ANYTHING is the jam. But it's a great site to talk football. Just a tad negative, often.

My counterpoint to that argument is this.

Teams that become stingy and not paying high end WR talent tend to historically struggle. See the Patriots letting J. Myers move to the Raiders, Titans trading away AJ Brown, etc.

And sometimes teams that go far still do not overcome that hurdle (eg Andy Reid Pre TO) until they pay up for a WR talent.
