Why would anyone be complaining?

If you think 10 wins is the floor than I don't know what to tell you.

You think it's the ceiling?

I think it's neither.

I think 13 wins is the ceiling and 9 wins is the floor.

So watch Darnold take this team to 12 wins this coming season.

OPTIMISM, my friend! :)

You really have no clue if Darnold is an upgrade or lateral move. if he was a lateral move then it was a win since he is you.ger, cheaper, and got a draft pick from Geno. He could very well break out next season with a higher ceiling, there was no hope of that from Geno.

JSN can play outside.

DK was a drop machine if he was covered. MVS can play the same role and might even be better at route running.
You are wrong on literally everything you just said.

Ok. The Vicki's are gonna win 14 games without Darnold. They are gonna win the superbowl with a second year rookie and some injured 88 million dollar olineman and maybe Aaron Rodgers whom was released by the Jets. Sarcasm.

The Raiders are gonna make the playoffs in Genos first year. Though he has never been there. More Sarcasm

It was foolish of the Hawks to retool. We should have paid Geno 200 million so we could watch him play till he's 40. Cause given enough time he would stop directly costing us games. DK would learn to run routes if we gave him 150 million. Every move we made is set in stone and we are now doomed.

To those that are upset about us signing older players - which players were available that are younger and better than Kupp and Lawrence? Given that Geno wanted to leave or make $45 million, which QB should JS have gone after instead?
…and we need veteran leadership on and off the field. We didn’t have that losing guys like Tyler and Bobby. Both DLaw and Kupp have that and can still play at a high level situationally

The same reason football scouts fall for the guy with a rocket arm who looks the part, or the guy with 8 pack abs? Doesn't make you a great football player or better team, IMHO.

The complaints primarily stem from you are not improving anything you are just arranging the chairs on the Titanic which is why this draft will be make or break time for JS. Right now the Seahawks defense on paper is improved because you have alpha anchors on each level of the defense that were re-signed surrounded by players on rookie contracts. The offense? To be determined. Even if the OL plays at a higher level replacing Lockett for Kupp and Metcalf with MVS is really stretching it. Geno and Darnold? Geno does a lot of his work pre snap and he doesn't take his time deciphering things post snap which is why he has a high completion percentage. Darnold? Darnold doesn't do as much pre snap reads and really takes his time post snap to find an open WR. Truly any QB can do that but the real test is when things do not go as planned. Everyone has a plan until they are punched in their face.

Many of the Seahawks 2025 opponents have front sevens that are very physical and I am talking about the Rams, Cardinals or 49ers. Teams like the Bucs, Colts, Commanders, Steelers, Panthers, and Saints. Titans and Jax can also be physical too.

And if these defense start crowding the box with 8 man fronts the WRs have to be able to beat jams or it will be ugly with coverage sacks.

Listening to AM radio in Spokane which I know nothing about but I found some espn and you should hear the complaining in Minnesota about how the Vikings just let the Seahawks have Sam Darnold. Minnesotans think they shoulda franchise tagged him and then traded him to Seattle for the 18th pick.
Don’t know about you but if we gave up the 18th pick for Darnold I would be in a totally different mood about his presence here

Even the titanic needs well organized deck chairs to start off

That just shows you that some Vikings fans still value Darnold and probably wish he didn't "blow up" last season and stuck around to play "babysitter" for McCarthy instead of now being in a situation where they'll bring in that Toxic B*tch Rodgers.

Doesn't make much sense that the Vikings would let Darnold go if they didn't think JJ would be ready week 1. They could've franchised him or even signed him to a similar deal that Seattle gave. Literally makes zero sense for them to sign Rodgers outside of not believing in JJ AND Darnold.

From what I heard, the plan was always for McCarthy to take over.

In fact, the original plan when they first signed Darnold to that 1 year 10 mill deal was for him to play the first 4 or 5 games of the season and then McCarthy would come in and take over with Sam becoming his backup the rest of the way.

I heard they offered him another 1-year deal which would basically put him in the same situation he would've ended up in the first time around if McCarthy never got hurt.

Sam wisely left and came here where he got a multi-year (albeit with conditions to that, thanks to JS) deal but he won't have to be looking over his shoulder at all this season (and if he plays well, the same for next season, too).

What if JJ is a bust? It'd suck to be a vikings fan.

I don't think we should talk about MVS anymore. He's nothing more than a TV breaker. So make sure there's nothing around you to launch.
Pretty sure we'll draft a couple wrs that should bury him anyways
I wouldn’t discount Valdes-Scantling just yet he had about 400 yards last year as a third or fourth option. I guarantee they draft a high end receiver in probably the first or second round. They can also trade up with the amount of early picks they have through the first 3 rounds

You've already spent a 1st round pick on him and he seemed in line to get the starting nod before his injury. Not saying I'm a personal fan of his, but if I'm a Vikings fan I'm chompin at the bit to find out.
