Why would anyone be complaining?

I'm just curious why anyone would be complaining with the moves in the last couple weeks. DK and Geno were not elite, but we got a 2nd and 3rd while saving a ton of cap space and possibly upgrading with Darnold while getting younger. MVS might be a downgrade from DK but gives a similar play style. Cupp is probably an upgrade from Lockette if you factor in the run first offense while JSN can play inside and outside. Kubiak and Benton are significant upgrades from Grubb and Huff which might help the oline tremendously, which is a young group that can still improve. Added draft picks + comp picks might equal a really good draft. AJ Barner looks like a stud in the making and the RB room might be one of the best in 2025. Tank as a rotational player helps the D-line no matter how you look at it. Knight and Jones great LB combo and they have a full season under Macdonald.

I'm more excited about this team than I've been in a decade. I think 10 wins is the floor. I really don't understand the criticism, this is one of the best off-seasons I've seen. I think Darnold is a perfect match with Kubiak especially with the receivers, RBs, and Barner. Oline will only be better with this play style. Anything less than 12 wins is a disappointment, this team looks special

I think those that have been complaining have mostly been pretty clear what they are complaining about.

And they haven’t even had the draft yet

I love what they’ve done. Darnold at worst is close to Geno(I think he’s better with room to improve), saved money, gained draft picks, went out and made some good signings in Cupp, DLaw and have a ton of draft capitol.

You have to take a chance at getting worse sometimes to get a lot better. Could it fail? Sure but the process is right and I love that they’re not settling for missing the playoffs every year.

With Geno the floor was about 7-8. His ceiling was 10-11. With Darnold I see a lower floor but I also see a higher ceiling. I am optimistic we are closer to the ceiling than the floor.

We haven’t even had the draft yet with 5 picks in the top 92 currently. If JS nails the draft our window is open.

DK not elite? 2 pro bowls and a 2nd team all pro might disagree with that statement. DK didn't just randomly claim he wanted a trade out of no where. JS screwed this team by not being a listener and making adjustments. Make DK happy or trade him for a first...but be smarter than to let DK request a trade and cost the team.

I want Darnold to succeed more than anyone...but he plays at the level of his team. If the team rocks, so does he...if the team sucks, so does he. Darnold isn't elevating the team...but with the pocket crashing, I thought at times, Geno did.

So far JS has picked up the All-Injured team of 2025. "Are you old, missed games last year, past your prime...perfect, sign right here"

Yeah, maybe 5 years ago Cupp would have been a splash, and 8 years ago for the new DE...but now it's a desperation move by a fading GM trying to hold on to the last days of his job. Don't go away mad John, just go away

Naw man, we aren't being annoying at all. You got your pouty face on like my damn 2 year old lol. Things didn't go your way this year and it's all doom and gloom. It's pretty obvious a lot of us were ready for change, and you were fine with the status quo. I get it, change can suck.. But it can be a hell of a lot better than what we have had the last 10ish years.

No reason to complain about the moves, but still justified in complaining about the lack of improvement on the OL. At this point we might need to use our first 5 picks all on the OL. Not a good position to be in.

Overall all, though, Schneider is doing what most fans wanted: put together a team that will either make the playoffs or lose enough games that we get good draft position. If our off-season moves work out (darnold repeats his performance, Kupp stays healthy) we can be a legit super bowl contender. If Darnold reverts to pre-vikings and Kupp is injured we might only win 6 or 7 games.

Because some people are only happy that way. There are definitely a couple members I tune out because of their consistent negative takes.
It’s usually a sign that other areas of their lives are less than peachy - it gives a tangible “thing” to direct one’s discontent and frustration in the insecurity in one’s being

Or it could be secondary to hemorrhoids. I really don’t know.

Sure things can definitely improve, but I still question the process.

The Geno and DK transactions were reactive, and not proactive. Ie, John didn't plan on trading these players. These players requested a trade.

Luckily Darnold was available, or it could have been much worse. Ie, Fields or something.

I would like their "process" with roster construction to be more proactive instead of reactive going forward.

DK was an elite athlete but not an elite WR. Considering how dominate he is physically he should have been able to run down the field, the QB throws the ball up and DK high points the ball and makes the catch 80-90% of the time. The other elite X receivers are capable of this

The last chart I saw with WR ratings had DK around 15

By going to Pittsburgh DK will be the #2 in their offense

So now that we have a different OC, OL coach, QB, and WR there are no longer any valid criticisms or concerns, and anyone that expresses any concerns or criticisms is just a generally miserable person that's just whining.

Cool. That seems very fair and reasonable.

The bigger question is wtf do so many fans dwell on these fans that don't like the moves. It's the most baffling thing to me. For every 1 post that hates something there seems to be another 10 post's freaking out about the haters or making snide remarks for the umpteenth time. Magnifies the complaining.
