He paid his debt for his dog crimes. Served time in prison and hasnt had any issues since, has voluntarily donated to dog rescue foundations. He seems like a changed man.

No, he is a doosh. He isn't changed, just putting on a good front.

Guys, it doesn't matter who they put back there if RW can't play. We would more than likely lose most if not all of those games. This coaching staff has done a pathetic job of preparing for an RW injury situation. They have relied only on his ability to be mobile and escape injury. They have not produced an even average O-Line to help protect him. PC is stubborn to a fault, so nothing is going to change.

RW plays or we pretty much lose. Deal with it.

Could be all an act, but he really could be a changed man. Everyone can change .......

Even if he truly is a changed man that doesn't mean he deserves a second chance. I personally think the debt he paid to society wasn't nearly enough.

Why?

Because he just isn't good anymore.

And he doesn't know our system...

Better off with Boykin and a heavy dose of the run.
Vick is a vet, boykin is a rookie without a single start in his career. Vick is still capable of making big plays, hes better than boykin at this stage, boykin might make some game changing rookie mistakes.

Okay, well at some point you've got to throw Boykin in the fire. What better game to do it against a bad Saints team with a horrendous defense? We're not signing 36 year old Michael Vick. It's pointless. He's unemployed for a reason.

If we can't beat the Saints with Boykin (this all moot and stupid because No. 3 is playing) then we deserve the loss.

Boykin > Vick, by a mile.

Good God, this board is getting unbearable lately.

Hoping Pete has TJ Duckett's number on speed dial, maybe we can bring him in for a look.

Just let Boykin get some experience, pass on Vick.

Exactly.

I wouldn't even flinch if they trotted Boykin out to start.

Maybe we'd actually get to see the QB keep the read-option handoffs that looked so wide open the last few games.

How weird is it that signing Tebow would be more divisive than signing Vick or TJack? (and this is coming from someone who sincerely doesn't give a rat about dog fighting, although OBVIOUSLY let's not debate that  ).

Second only to his inability to play QB, the media's obsession with Tebow really did him in, IMO. I can't think of a less talented player in any major sport that brought a bigger circus along with him.

Great. Let him continue redeeming himself elsewhere.

I like what I've seen of Boykin. Russell is our guy and for as long he can play at championship capacity and win games, leave him be.

If however it appears that Russell can't get the job done due to an injury or an accumulation of injuries, he and/or Pete need to recognize it and let Boykin play QB for them.

Boykin didn't end up in Seattle by accident. He was spotted by our scouts and encouraged to come up and see if he would fit our offense as well as we imagined he might.

They liked Boykin at the QB position because he plays it more like RW than any of the other young bloods or old arms in the sideline wheelchairs waiting for the call from some desperate team.

We are not desperate, Boykin is a real natural fit it for Russell, and in preseason looked better than Russell at times, even pulling us up out of potential losses a couple of games too.

He's been studying the play book, executing the plays, for going on 4 months now, some of that time with our starting offensive line.

If Russell and Pete have anything to worry about, it would be getting the fans to support putting Russell back in once he heels up.

Let's not loose sight of the fact that Russell was a rookie too when he took over as our lead QB. He's our guy and everyone supports that, but like he and everyone else says "this is a tough business and sometimes decisions have to be made".

No one will be quick to desert Russell, if he steps aside and brings Boykin in because, he believes his injury will likely cost his team a loss loss.

No matter how great Boykin looks, we will all look for Russell to return and get us to our next Super Bowl title;).

With the game plan that we SHOULD have for this game Boykin is perfect. Heavy dose of run, long passes if OL protection is good and guys are open enough for pretty safe throws. Start Russ so he can keep his stat of consecutive starts, then put in Boykin. This gives us read option/QB scramble ability.

If our AWESOME OC has his way though, Russ will be attempting long developing plays and acting like the read option is active. Don't forget the braniac plan of throwing bubble screen passes, but forgetting to actually setup the screen blocking part like the play in the last game.

Put in Boykin after part of a qtr or the end of the first. We have a brutal run on the schedule coming up. Give Russ a quasi buy week to rest.
