I will start by saying I will be onboard with an 18 game season, even if they eliminated preseason as a whole durign the next bargaining agreement.

Man oh man do I get excited when football season is back. Real football where players wearing my teams logo and playing ball. I always love how every preseason game in Seattle it is sunny and warm, the atmosphere is so chill. You see more parents bringing their kids and fans in their summer Seahawks get up. You see people who are just happy to have football back. There is no expectation, no fighting, nobody worried the playoffs are no longer an option.

Preseason is fun. There is competition like crazy amongst the backups and young guys. We get a chance to see players who are fighting for their careers put it all on the line. Some may never get another chance. We get to see those draft picks up close and personal, this is their first real action in an NFL uniform and opportunity to make an impression to the fans. You can hear people talking about who's going to be a starter and who's going to get cut. Will this be another year where the pre-season MVP gets shafted or is this the time where the guy who looked like a star really is the next man up. The is so much speculation and so much to enjoy.

It is only a few days away and Football is back!!!

SEA....HAWKS!!!!

I agree. When the competition to just "make the team" is a primary motivation for players, we see some pretty fun games, as well as the typical rookie mistakes.

We get to know the rookies, too; but that leads to some disappointment for me when some of them that I like don't make the final roster.

We just need to avoid the Troymaine Pope syndrome that seems to grip this place every pre-season with one or two rookies/new-to-the-team players.

I always am excited for football again and can't wait to tune into some games.

After a bit, the regular season can't come fast enough.

Not only would I love to see 18 games, but it would make the two pre-season games actually more fun to watch imo.

One thing the NFL should require in all preseason games is scrambling QBs. They (non racist) add so much more excitement. Even if they can't throw they (non racist) create yards. Because of that I'm glad Austin Davis is back at his day job, modeling cargo shorts for JC Penny's.

Good topic, Kneel.

We will get to see just how good the draft picks are . The hype for some players will have to be earned or forfeited from now on .

Another thing I love about preseason football is that it is perfect for the pvr experience. If it is nice out you can go do something else while the game is on, get home and get through the game in about 1.5 hours without any of the chit chat between the action.

You do know that if it goes to an 18 game season..
All players can only play in 16 of them..
Yes even RW will have to sit out of two..

I'm excited for pre-season games until I have to watch 3rd and 4th quarters of pre-season games. Then I remember why pre-season games suck.

In my perfect NFL world, we'd stick with the 16 games season and cut two pre-season games off the schedule. But I know the owners are money grubbing greedy bastards, so god forbid they give up two games worth of revenue in order to make their product better............so I guess we'll continue the ridiculousness of four unnecessary pre-season games.

Not a fan of an 18 game season. There's already enough stinker games at the end of seasons when 1/3rd of the teams are out of it and mailing it in. We don't need two more.

I would simply cut two of the preseason games. Make it a 2 game preseason and keep the official schedule to 16 games. It won't happen as Sgt mentioned. Money grubbers. But in the spirit of the thread, I too love preseason and it's a very simple reason for me.

I just found out that the Seahawks no longer have printed tickets. Bummer! Got to take a family fancy phone in order to get into the stadium! Great weather for a game!

Speaking of eliminating pre-season... I wonder how that'd work. Would you carry a larger roster until a certain time during the season? Would think you'd have to.
