Why did they feel it better to run on 4th and 1?

Meanwhile inside Bevell's head: "4th and 1... People are still pretty sore at me for not running during the Super Bowl, but I know I made the right call. I got it! If I do a run out of the shotgun and it fails then it'll show people that it wouldn't have worked in the Super Bowl, therefor people will see that I am a genius and a pass was the right call! More than just few think Bevell is a blockhead.

Because it's our base offensive formation, where the majority of our plays are run from..............thus the most options which means the most plays the defense has to prepare for.

This is why I didn't have an issue with it

This is why I hated the pass in the Superbowl. Not because it was a pass but because it was an empty backfield signaling pass
