TBrown, MJackson, ABurns, CBryant have all started multiple games but look to be depth outside in '24. One will play when Spoon goes inside in nickel- looks to be TreBrown. ...3 starters as depth + 2 drafted rookies to develop. Id guess most teams would envy this CB room. One (or more) probably won't be on the final roster. Perhaps JS can get some trade value back ???

That said, last season had the same pre-season look and the group didn't play up to expectations at all. Lots of potential for success but we're betting against history.

I see Riq has bulked up and is engaging with DK much more successfully this year. New coaching seems to have instilled some accountability. Young players can be unpredictable and a Sophomore slump isn't uncommon. A better DLine and passrush helps coverage. ...all reasons for higher expectations in '24, but considering '23 I'd say nothing's guaranteed.

It would be pretty ironic if the CB group outperforms the year after Pete leaves (considering it's generally understood to be his expertise) but it looks like a good possibility.

I still would keep everyone, find a way to stash them, aggressive play tends to make players have a lot more dings and nics, having guys able to pop off the IR or PS in that event and not lose a step or trade one trait for another is not a bad thing. Although I am sure we could use more 6th and 7th round picks.

Xavien Howard (Miami- 4 probowls 2 seasons as team captain) still unsigned. I'm not suggesting there's a place in Seattle for him, but maybe the CB market is different than years past ... teams are good with status quo. Whatever it means, I guess my above hopes of trade value might be unrealistic.

I’ve been hearing about some great battles between DK & Riq.

Definitely encouraging. Injuries may have played a big part in Riq’s decline last year. I’m anxious to see how he looks under MMs defense. All the tools are there…

From what I read: Riq is very fast but his quickness isn't elite, his decision-making or situational processing are far from great.

Woollen took a huge step back last year. I'm very concerned about him. He looked like he didn't want to be out there.

Maybe this was a side-effect of Diggs, maybe Adams too. Diggs certainly didn't want to be out there at times. It'd be tough to share a backfield as a sophomore with a proven vet that's checked out. ...just a supposition. One way or another, we'll see if Riq is motivated or not this year. There's lots of depth if he turns out to be a sub-par option. It seems like he's in the right headspace, but it's a long season.
