I've heard of this Mina Kimes chick and was told she's a diehard Hawks fan. She's picked against the Seahawks every game this season. I don't like her breakdown of football or the Hawks. She's bashing them but not where it's obvious if that makes sense. She's seems like a bandwagon fan to me. She's not from the PNW so it makes sense why she's not a true diehard fan.

I have always liked Mina. She’s actually a very intelligent mind and does an excellent pod. However, yeah, she does seem to be pretty down on the Hawks this year. I think she was a huge Russell truther, and probably Pete too. Hopefully she’s wrong again!

She's been writing about the Hawks for about ten years. I find her fairly objective on most takes.

Just as I expected. Right during the LOB era. That where a lot of these so called Hawk fans come out of the wood work. Now they're finding their new identity and these so called fans are gone like the wind.

Mina is a DIE HARD Seahawks fan. She has a tatoo celebrating the Super Bowl victory. She isn't always right about everything but she LOVES her Seahawks.

Yeah, during the suoerbowl. That's where a lot of these new fans tend to pop up. Now they're finding their new identity, poof, gone like the wind. I'm not buying what this chick is selling. I think Kimes is a fair weather fan. Watch. once the Hawks start winning consistently her tone is gonna change. All of a sudden she'll be a super diehard fan.

Just because she started writing about them then doesn't mean she wasn't a fan before. Anything to reinforce your confirmation bias.

Who is this hawks85 chick?

Picking against your team doesn't mean you're not a fan. Plus she is very popular on National scale so keeps some objectivity. You not knowing her might be a bigger indictment

You are correct. Her Hawk fandom originates from her father who is from the Seattle area so she's been a Hawks fan all her life. Also a Mariner and Huskies fan. I think sometimes her fandom causes her to be pretty pessimistic about them

She was one of the big proponents of hiring Mike MacDonald last year

I would think it would be very difficult to try to report about your favorite team while trying to not be biased in your reporting. That could easily come off as not being fan enough but thats the cost of trying to write without a fan bias.

Obviously we here would love to read her stuff if it was full of Seahawks rah rah but she has to report for a much wider audience

OP, you need to step back off my girl. She’s no more or less a 12 than you or me. I’ve followed her for years. Not only is she a true Seahawks fan but she has a very solid football IQ and as Kidhawk said, as a national media person, it’s imperative she doesn’t come off as impartial.

Yes, that may make her sometimes go out of her way to not look like a “fan”, appearing perhaps overly negative at times but I watch her show(s) and she’s smarter than a lot of fans out there.

You may be a great guy and fan, but your take on her is weak sauce.

I looked her up, a summa cum laude from Yale and having a successful media career. I would enjoy dining with her, she is an intriguing person.

Kimes is from Nebraska. I don't know a lot of Hawks outside of Washington. The ones I do know jumped on during the LOB era.

In case you are unaware OP, this right here is getting a spanking from grandpa. You must have really been misbehaving to earn that one.
