Well if Riq is any example, they find a player that is good at something...then alter their playing style to make them worse. And then throw them into a scheme that does not fit the player.
Finally they remove any aggressiveness or tactical advantage they have...if there is any risk at all in playing that way.
The final product will be the most vanilla, gutless play while making it near impossible for a player to thrive in that environment, at least hamstringing that player to a great extent.

Oh, so in other words they do the same thing the Mariners batting coaches do. Gotcha
