He's played 2 games, he looks more than ok, and he's going to be more than ok. It's exciting to see all this new blood. Daniels, Stroud, Penix, Bo, May, Williams, McCarthy (soon)
Side note, it's been made known that there were 3 teams that tried to trade up for Penix, Hawks were one of them.

Are we replacing Cross and Lucas? If not, I don't see how the OL is going to be such a massive overhaul that we can't look to upgrade in other places too. Interior offensive linemen don't tend to go early in the draft. No center has ever been drafted higher than 16th. It's not like with quarterback, where if you don't get one early you have to get really lucky.

A lot of it is going to come down to coaching anyway.

We need to see if Drew lock is available for this next year. He's with the Giants, but for how long? He threw for 4 tds in last game..we could definitely use him here as a bridge QB or..maybe longer. For alot cheaper than Geno

He's a free agent this offseason. He signed $5 million for one year this past spring.

I've been talking up Lock a bit the past two days because it's cool to see a guy who was classy in his role here find success, plus the Geno stans take compliments of other QBs as personal insults for some reason, but he was pretty horrifically bad in his other starts this season, and I really can't see anyone seriously considering him as a potential starter. To illustrate how awful he has been as a whole, he completed 73.9% of his passes yesterday for 309 yards and four TDs to zero INTs for a QB rating of 155.3 and his numbers for the year are STILL 55.9% completions for 933 yards, five TDS to four INTs and a QB rating of 74.3.

I am not sure if he is that much better than Howell but it sure wouldn't hurt to have him if there is cap savings bringing him into the fold.

I would bet that has more to do with coaching, I don't think their lines were as bad as the stats indicate. Both teams changed coaches. Kingsbury and Quinn are huge upgrades. Payton also knows how to run an offense that helps his QB.

We've had years of Oline neglect which kind of changed recently, we'll see how this draft goes. We need a coordinator who knows how to get the most out of what he's got. If Grubb stays then a new QB will get killed
Coaching does have alot to do with it. But the Qb also has alot to do with it aswell. Having a QB that is mobile is the way of the NFL nowadays. Offensive lines are getting better stats because a QB can move around creating more time. There is hardly any pocket passers in the NFL today. Also I don't think the Hawks have neglected the oline. They just have not developed their draft picks.

In fairness to Lock other than Nabers that Giants offense has table scraps to work with. Most of the resources the Giants have poured into that team is on that defense.

I don't think it's as easy as that with Denver's oline. One of the first things Sean Payton did was go to work fixing the oline. They also had a new offensive line coach. Paid for two guys in free agency. It was dramatically improved in 2023 and then they returned the same five guys, building continuity.

I haven't really followed Washington, but they have three different starters from last seaon. I have no doubt a mobile QB helps an oline, but I doubt it's going to drastically make a shit one into a solid one.
Denvers oline is in the middle of the pack. They don't have a 1000 yard rusher this year, but Bo nix has rushed for 380 yards. If he doesn't run for those yards they likely are not ranked 17th, maybe in the 20's. Daniel's has rushed for 800 plus yards they are ranked 3rd in the league, but remove those rushing yards and they probably go way down from that. While I do agree coaching matters, QB's play big roles on olines. The nfl has hardly no pocket passers anymore.

I don't disagree that mobile QB's play a huge role... no way Denver's oline is middle of the pack, they are much better than that, especially in pass pro.

I'm sure they are better than middle of the pack in pass pro, but that's what I'm saying. Bo nix is mobile and he rarely passes from the pocket. They do alot of rollouts and moving pockets for him. This increases the pass pro percentage. He rarely takes a sack because he is getting out of the pocket when it breaks down. It was the same when he was at Oregon he rarely got sacked.

I don't disagree with anything you are saying. It's just to the degree he's making a difference. You have to give that oline more credit imo. All five guys are top 10 PBWR. and you can say that is because of Nix but i'd argue it's a combo of both. That line is also second in the NFL in RBWR. They are a pretty good oline with or without Nix. So I am just saying NIX may be helping them be even better, but they are pretty good to begin with.

Patience from the fans, Rookie HC, OC, DC, STC at the NFL level and people are calling for heads of players and Coaches.

They have to get the right formula together, each side of the ball learning this year what will and won't work, 9-7 and we could be 10 - 7 or 9 - 8, doesn't matter, winning season with all this going on.

I'm actually impressed with what they accomplished and have confidence next year may be a step up.

SP first focus when arriving in Denver was to fortify that OL. Despite cap restraints they did a good job of putting together an OL that could function.

That's a big key. This Oline and Geno would have benefited a lot from stuff like that
