I would bet he had a lot to do with it too.
Took the word out of my mouth!!A quarterback.
You nailed it. Its the only way out of mediocrity. It sounds like drafting any qb out of this class is a terrible idea. No one will like this but tanking a year is probably the best idea. Howell guarantees you less than 3 wins. Should be enough for 1 overall. Maybe thats why we traded for him...Schneider always thinking ahead...
It's true some of the time. KC wasn't a great team. They made a savvy trade up to get Mahomes. The Ravens got Lamar late in the first round. The same for the Packers with both Love and Rodgers. The Eagles got Hurts in the second round, I believe. Etc... A bunch of teams whiffed on picking QB's early in the draft, the Jets, Patriots, 49ers, and others. There were teams that did suck and made good on it, like the Commanders, Texans, Bengals, and Bills. It's a pretty mixed bag, all in all.You nailed it. Its the only way out of mediocrity.
That’s such a critical statOne stat that jumps out is our turnover margin. -.4. 26th in the league. I would start right there.
Totally. Especially on offense. But if our offense started showing this our defense would become absolutely ferociousSmash mouth, bloody , finger in the ear hole, no holds bar, fight to the finish football..that's what we are missing
Can’t stand cowherd he’s an “ everyone should root for the Yankees cause their always gonna win anyway” kinda fan, and that’s a CowHerd quoteCowherd just did a segment saying the Seahawks failed when they didn’t trade up for a quarterback last draft and I agree. Even if you’re a huge Geno fan he’s at an age where if you can get one early you have to take it
So, everything but defense…got it!!
I thought Penix has looked ok so far. It's only his second start so I'm reserving judgement until I get more data. Nix looks legit, Daniels looks awesome, Maye and Williams have looked good at times too. Looking forward to seeing more of Penix and McCarthy next year.I wanted Penix so bad and I think he’s going to be a monster. Rumors are that Seattle did try to trade up for him but not sure how hard or if it’s true.
Good post!
Not likely they're gonna replace all 5 starters and frankly they don't need to. Cross is good and Lucas has been good so far and still rounding into shape after not playing for so long. Although we may need someone in the wings as his health history is a little worrisome. Where they really need help is LG/RG and, as sad as I am to say this, it's looking like Oluwatimi is not the answer at C. I hope I'm wrong on Olu as he has shown some flashes but it's been more bad than good so far.An offensive line
Watched Penix in college, the preseason and now this year and I think he’s a special player who is going to be a star. I couldn’t wrong thoI thought Penix has looked ok so far. I don't think any of the teams that drafted QB's in the first 12 picks were gonna trade with Seattle as they were all teams desperate for a QBotF. I was hopeful they would move up but not surprised they didn't. I'm confident it wasn't from a lack of trying as we all knew this year's crop of QB's was better than next.
Unfortunately the QB crop for 2025 is smaller and with less cream at the top. Since Seattle is likely to draft in the 2nd half of the first round there's not a lot of hope for significant movement up. So unless they can swing a reasonable trade for a legit QB with some youth it may be likely they spend their resources this offseason shoring up other areas of need, namely OLine guards and possibly a tackle, a legit edge rusher and a corner.
