Seahawks will not be in position to draft a QB, i personally think they'll continue to beef up the trenches and go with Geno one more year. They may trade for a QB but they won't be drafting one... Just my hunch.

I don’t think there are too many QBs as fundamentally sound as Geno. He would be a great guy to sit behind.

Fundamentally sound as in what he does, can be taught. Not a Lamar Jackson ‘you see…if these guys aren’t open, you do three spin moves, hurdle the safety, then score’ type guy.

We need a guy to sit behind Geno next year…someone we can project as a starter without paying the gross sum that Geno and his agent are sure to request.

I wouldn't have minded at all if we had traded up for a QB last draft. I think the best they could have done was Penix or Nix in a trade, if I remember the draft board right.

My only concern with Penix coming out of college was in staying healthy. Cool temperament, decent size, golden arm. I would have been happy if they had gotten him in spite of my health concerns.

I was iffy on Nix, though I would have been ready to get behind him, and would have finally appreciated that we actually did something in the way of finding our QBOTF. But it must be kept in mind that he's under the tutelage of Sean Payton. That was close to an ideal situation for him.

Drew Lock has more TDs today than Geno has had in any of the 53 games he has played as a Seahawk.

Congrats to the Giants. They had the #1 overall pick locked up. Now they don't. All so they could get a meaningless win over the lowly Panthers in week 17 of a season that's been over for weeks.

So mind bogglingly dumb. Such a Giants thing to do.

It's what they get for beating us.

Their coaches and a lot of the players had no incentive to lose seeing as they won't be around for the Giants' desperately-needed rebuild. They have their next jobs to think about. Drew might have earned himself a nice raise in the offseason, given that he was playing this season on a one-year, $5 million deal which is peanuts for a QB.

Penix needs a line to hold up or else he is in trouble. We will see if Washington can exploit that tonight. But the Seahawks do not have a stable interior for Penix to thrive although Grubb would work wonders with Penix.

Nix works well in SP offense because he want to run a balanced offense and Nix has that quick trigger like Brees.

1. Draft the best available interior OL. Have that rookie compete with last year's draft choices and pick the best three for the interior.
2. A more reliable boundary CB would help the team a ton.
3. Dynamic pass catching TE/tweener/blocker. Especially true if Grubb is sticking around as that is how Culp was used in a limited fashion.
4. A rookie QB to compete with Howell next season for starting gig or sit a year and learn.

IOL, CB, TE and QB.

Those are the areas I think the Seahawks should concentrate on. The rest is just adding to the depth(eg ILB).

I doubt that getting a win against a 3 win Panthers team in week 17 is going to move the needle much regarding the next jobs of any of these guys. Especially since it probably wasn't in the best interest of the team they currently work for.

Maybe Lock did himself a favor, maybe it won't make any difference. Again it was against a 3 win team. 🤷‍♂️

It was a seven-win Colts team, but I think your point mostly stands.

I don't think Lock is going to transmute this into a $20m/year deal in the offseason, but I think it's helpful that these guys are giving their potential future employers something good to look at late in the year. Maybe an extra team that wasn't really thinking of Lock before does now, and with two bidders instead of one, he's making $7 million instead of $5 million. Or even if it's another $5 million deal, he was risking having to sign for the vet minimum somewhere if he didn't show more than he did in his earlier starts.

Lots of draftphobes around here. “YOU CAN NEVER GET A GREAT PLAYER at our spot!!!! It’s such a crap shoot!!! Most picks FAIL!!!”

wah wah wah. Get the best you can get and move along. Tired of the mediocre Geno Treadmill.

“But but but if he only had a top tier oline and OC” yeah. Guess what. Any practice squad QB could be a decent starter with a top tier oline and OC. “ But Geno is ONLY paid $25m!!! “ we Could have missed this years playoffs with a far cheaper QB and a better line.

TheLoyalists need to come to their senses,
"we Could have missed this years playoffs with a far cheaper QB and a better line."
That's a good line and I agree. But I do not believe this year is a good year to draft a QB. Someone the other day suggested trading for Hooker and I would welcome that chance.

Oops, not sure why I was thinking it was the Panthers.
