Wow, what a week of disappointments. Well, we did win 50-17, but only a few of the other games went the way we needed them too. I guess i cant be upset... Well anyway. Because of the non-sense going on in the NFC East, and the decent records of a couple of teams on the NFC North, this weeks games are extremely crucial. Our goal of course is winning out. Winning out and were guaranteed the 5th seed no matter what. We could technically lose 1 game and either take the 5th or 6th seed. Losing both games will make it really hard to grab the 6th seed, but its still possible. So with that being said, here is

WEEK 16 GAMES THAT MATTER. *These only cover games that can have an impact on Seahawks seeding.

SAINTS (6-8) vs COWBOYS (8-6)
LETS GO: SAINTS
WHY? Dallas is in a 3 way tie, record wise, with their division. They play Washington next week for what could very well be the nfc east division. Dropping a game to the Saints would make it impossible for them to beat us record wise and we hold a tie breaker over them. If they somehow won the division in 2 week because skins and giants lost out, then we are guaranteed an NFC East Team wont take a wildcard.

REDSKINS (8-6) vs EAGLES (4-10)
LETS GO: EAGLES
WHY? We currently hold a tie-breaker over Washington all the way down to common games. If we lose both games and redskins win one game only, they will hold the tie breaker as it returns to conference record. Washington winning out will guarantee them them division and will pose no threat against the wild card. They will also have removed Dallas from the wild card search.

TITANS (5-9) vs PACKERS (10-4)
LETS GO: PACKERS or TITANS
WHY? Let me explain before you get all crazy. With the remaining 2 games on the schedule for all the teams in contention for the 2nd and third seed, i was looking at what scenarios would land us in Lambeau and SF (things we dont want), and scenarios that would land us in Atlanta and any of the crappy NFC East sites. This was under the presumption that we dont take the division because AZ doesnt achieve a Christmas miracle because we all know thats what it would have to be. It came down to either GB being a threat in the Wildcard rounds, or a Threat in the Divisional round, or even in the NFC Game. Under all the different scenarios I played with, it seemed that we have an even chance of playing them at lambeau no matter what. However, I could not find an optimal conclusion to this. If GB takes the 2nd seed, we play SF in SF. If SF takes the 2nd Seed, we play GB in GB. I kinda want to play in SF instead of GB.

VIKINGS (8-6) vs TEXANS (12-2)
LETS GO: TEXANS
WHY? Vikings lose one more game, they cant remove us from our seeding.

BEARS (8-6) vs CARDINALS (5-9)
LETS GO: CARDINALS
WHY? Read above.

GIANTS (8-6) vs RAVENS (9-5)
LETS GO: RAVENS
WHY? Giants right now are on the outside looking in. However, they do hold an NFC tiebreaker over us. Them winning at all at this point is a negative for us and helps no one but themselves.

Some of the logic is busted, I'm afraid.

If we're the 5th seed, we go to the 4th seed -- not to the 3rd. You've got a long discussion about if you'd prefer to have the Seahawks travel to SF or to GB, but the most likely answer is NEITHER. It's pretty likely that we'll play the 4th seed, which will be the NFC East champion, presumably Washington, though that's just a wild guess.

The best scenario is that the Giants are the 6th seed, and defeat SF/GB in the first round, while the Seahawks are the 5th seed and defeat the Redskins. That sets up Giants at SF/GB and Seahawks at Atlanta. If both Giants and Seahawks advance, we get NFC Championship at home.

Before you claim I'm smoking crack, the Giants are capable of defeating SF and GB on the road, and I think we match up well with the Redskins and would love playing in dome with FieldTurf...

If I wasn't clear, it seems to be pretty much a lock that SF and GB will have the 2nd and 3rd seed -- not clear which one is the 2nd and which is the 3rd, but they can't get ahead of Atlanta, and whoever wins the NFC East is going to find it very hard to get ahead of either of them in the seeding, the NFC East winner is almost locked into 4th.

Oh, I could also see the possibility of the Vikings being the 6th seed and winning at SF and at GB. I think the ridiculous run game of AP could do very well against SF, and of course they know the Packers very, very, very well... division play is always interesting.

Most of the other Wild Card possibilities are pretty terrible actually.

Just beat San Fran, then nothing else matters. This is the biggest game in a long time even though it isn't the division the Rams game was I feel like this is the one that validates what I believe this team is capable of. If they win on Sunday, then we go to the play-offs beating the 49ers, Pats, Cowboys, Packers, and Bears on the road, with a ton of momentum and Thee ROTY player in Russell Wilson.

I think we want the Cowgirls to win, because I can't think of any potential playoff team I'd rather play in the first round than them!!

Prior to beating the pats, you guys were a big game. Now, not so much.
As long as we get out of there with no injuries thats ALL THAT MATTERS.

I'd disagree with that

I really want Washington. I want Russell Wilson to go down there and completely outplay RG3.

You're completely wrong

If Green Bay wins out, San Francisco needs this game to remain the #2 seed, otherwise Green Bay takes it. This game is huge for both teams.

God, if you have a soul, please let us wipe the floor with the 49ers and let the Cardinals end their season strong by taking them down as well. The cesspool that is 95% of the 49ers fan base don't deserve the division.

Totally.

I hate playing teams who want revenge too. They usually win. Remember when everyone wanted to go play the Bears in 2010 again? We got whomped.

Let's go kick the shit out of RG3.

Unlike you guys, we can win ANYWHERE. Refer to the new england game. Or the Saints. Or GB.

I was going to bring this up as well...if we are the #5 seed, there is NO WAY we could possibly play BOTH SF and GB. They would play each other in the divisional round as #2 plays #3. UNLESS #6 beats #3 in which case #3 is eliminated anyway.

Geez, take a xanax. Does it piss you off that much that a lot of our fan base doesn't really care about this game?

You can also lose anywhere. Refer to the Rams games, or the Vikings game, or getting blown out at home by a team that might not even make the playoffs.

No, but it points out how terrible of a fan base you have. This game was flexed, it is one of the biggest games of the season even if it is unlikely the Cards beat you.

Also Brees handed you that Saints game with two awful interceptions. Kaepernick should have two road losses in a row, because he sure as hell didn't do enough to win that game. The only reason the 49ers won road games against the Saints and Patriots is the other team turning the ball over (and not just your defense forcing turnovers. Those passes by Brees were godawful, and those turnovers by the Patriots were completely uncharacteristic of them. You got lucky) . If you really think Kaepernick can win 2 road games (3 if you count the Super Bowl) in a row against playoff oppenents, you're deluding yourself. If you really think the Patriots will completely shit the bed again if they play SF in the Super Bowl, you're deluding yourself.
