Was this all planned out when we traded RW to Denver?

RW was traded for 2 1st round picks and 2 2nd round picks.

Seattle drafted 2 Tackles that are more pass blocking than run blocking.

They also drafted a premier RB.

Maybe RW tanks Denver's season , and comes back to Seattle next year.

Good luck with that one

I think the more logical conclusion is that is better to find OTs that are natural pass blockers and coach them up to run block. It is hard to coach up an OT that doesn't have the feet for pass pro to be able to play in the NFL even if they are a good run blocker.

It's also great that we're not trying to convert a Defensive Tackle into a guard. It will take the rooks a season to be solid but we've picked up some pillars for the line for years. I like what we're building so far. We also have picks for next season from the Wilson trade. I think we knew we needed to build the core up and get quality so yes, that was the plan.

This is a young team, willing to buy in. I think its going to be fun.

That last line isn't going to happen.

However, when they traded RW to Denver, I do believe JS had a replacement in mind and I don't think we're going to see it coming. Now that we're on the last day of draft, I feel a lot more confident that they'll be taking a QB next year, however I doubt that they're thinking Stroud or Young. I think this is all coming together more beautiful than people think it is.

Pete and John are having a blast killing this year's draft, and I'm sure that Pete and his coaching staff absolutely can't wait to bring these rookies into the fold and start molding them into NFL players.

Preseason should be very interesting.

The bridge with Pete is gone, the last thing Pete needs is a few years of Russ. If we get a new HC, ummm

Russ isn't coming back. Spending this kind of draft capital on the kind of blockers he's been asking to draft for years is a nice little FU, that pretty much seals the deal.

Picking up Eric Barriere as an UDFA, might be a bigger coup than Wilson in the 3rd.

I would think RW set that whole thing up if he didn’t purchase a 25 mil mansion in Denver and put his in Seattle on the market. But it is a plan that teams should use. Kinda like they do in baseball sometimes.

Has there been a superstar that have been traded and then return back to their previous team a year or two later?

After the past two years I don’t want him back. Except after he retires.

He was amazing, and my favourite player, but he wanted out and it was painfully obvious.

It’s time for fresh blood pod and a new direction. I’m prepared to watch a QB competition, and deal with getting a new guy in the fullness of time.

While I liked RW (the first few years anyway), he was never my favorite player. That would have been Richard Sherman. But, Kam, the defense, Marshawn, Doug Baldwin and the team as a whole were fun to watch.

I'll never forget Marshawn hanging out on the outskirts of the SB press event. He was roped into an interview by Deion Sanders - the one where he said it was "all about that action" and "staying in his lane".

I feel like RW leaving broke up a log jam and I'm happy with the fresh direction. It's given everyone some juice.

Russ has moved on; we should too. On another note, does anyone remember when we actually picked our drafts in order? No screwing around or getting too cute.
