Want to know how Russell celebrated Monday's win?

Just heard this from a patient, apparently they were discussing it on the radio this morning. Russell did his post-game stuff with the MNF crew, went in to the locker room, showed and dressed in his post-game suit and then did his media interview obligations. Then as the rest of his team was getting ready to go out on the town to celebrate for the night Russell went back into the locker room, put his UNIFORM BACK ON, and went out into the empty stadium with a young boy through the Make A Wish foundation and played catch and talked with him for almost an hour.

This guy is too good to be true. He deserves every ounce of respect and money he'll end up getting.

I absolutely love this guy. He's the kind of player I want my kids to idolize - on and off the field. When I was a kid I had Steve Largent. My boys have Russell Wilson.

Wow, what an awesome, awesome person he is - just consistently devoted to being there for sick kids. Selfless, and he would never be one to say anything about it to make himself look good. Seattle fans are so unbelievably lucky to have a kick-ass and never-say-die yet composed, humble guy as QB, and who gives to the community as much as he does. He will definitely earn whatever they pay him. Thanks for sharing that.

1. Last night I watched a little segment on NFL about Russell and the girl from Seattle Children's who made the wallet (a story most of us are familiar with). I was struck, not for the first time by how special a person this guy really is. I try to shy away from human interest / football related things because I find them to be insincere most of the time, and staged. But Wilson wins me over. He's just too great. Plus, I know a nurse at Children's and she told me Wilson was there every week well before it was publicized by the team or the NFL. He and his wife really are wonderful.

That, to me, is one of the best aspects - if it were up to him, the only people who would know about it would be him, the kids and their families.

Thanks for posting the link to the pic - that little kid has probably had an awful and scary time with doctor visits, hospital time instead of playing with friends, chemo, surgeries, etc. but that time with RW had to be some of the happiest he's ever had - cloud nine for sure...
