Didn't hear people yelling for Sherman, Irvin, or BB to be tossed out. Lynch got a DUI which is far worse IMO because you are endangering innocent people but no one wanted Lynch cut on the spot........ Very interesting inconsistency if you ask me.
Good observation. Good job.

Well, to be fair, a line was drawn after Irvin-which was the last of the incidents he lists.

Players called a meeting and said no more.

And from that came the whole 'Leave No Doubt' & 24/7 deal.

At some point enough really is.

We should be all about winning the Super Bowl, and cutting Thurmond is certainly not going to bring this team closer together, nor help us in any way for the playoffs.

I honestly don't care how the team is perceived. I care about them finally winning a Lombardi. This year is a great chance, so anything that hurts that is just going to get a worse reaction from me and from other people.
This! I really don't give 2 squirts what other fanbases or that punk Goodell and his cronies think.

Whatever...

See ya in the postseason Walter. Get off the greens man. Save it for the postseason and for crying out loud get with the program and find a better masking agent.

It isn't going to be THAT big of a deal, but it would be nice if we can keep all our DBs on the field at the same time.

I can't talk, but once my career started I refrained from use. Not worth a career.

Rumors in the media have the substance that Thurmond tested positive for as pot. If this is true, this would be his second violation and shows he learned absolutely nothing his first time around. Does not matter that the state is no longer going to prosacute pot charges, it is still a condition of his employment. You stand to lose millions if you abuse these conditions.

I live and work in Washington State where pot is so called legal (still a federal offense). If that substance shows up in one of my random drug tests, I lose my job. Period, no second chance which is awarded to NFL players. Thurmond made a choice, fully knowing the consequences. He choose to ignore the realities of his situations and how his actions effect the rest of his team mates.

Y'know. Karma is a bitch. This guy worked his ass off and had an opportunity to shine as one of our starting cornerbacks in the best secondary in the league and now he loses that opportunity.

And, with this suspension, his FA market Value takes a huge hit.

I'm not sure you understand the principal of karma

I'm quite sure nobody does.

But if you don't get what I'm saying, that speaks either to your reading comprehension or a willful desire not to.

This is what the team gets for sticking with him through all his injuries? He had better come back at a cheap deal

Find it interesting that Browner and now Thurmond will be out for the last part of the season and are basically the two players in the secondary that everyone has thought won't be resigned next year. I am not sure if we can actually take either off the active roster at this point without some problems bringing them back for the playoffs and when they are healthy and the suspension ends. That and who do you drop to bring up two more players also. Mistakes happen but his timing sucks and could really jeapordize the over all make up of the team to juggle personnel now due to his lack of discilpline.

Chances are they have know about this for a long while. The appeal process takes quite a bit of time. Hell, the positive test may have come during the pre-season. I am sure the team knew all about this for some time now. To be suspended for substance abuse, you are not a first time offender.

Lane & Maxwell have seen alot of time this year at CB during blow outs. Also explains why they have played so much more zone this year. Easier to plug a DB into a zone scheme, than a man to man scheme.

The 'Hawks DB's are still better than NYJ & NE, both teams that beat NO. The team will be okay, and has know about this coming for months.
IF what you say is true then I have a real problem with the NFL's timing of this. Seems a little too convenient to suspend a player if they've known about it right before the one of the biggest games of the year that has huge HFA implications.

...and don't get me wrong the player is an idiot for doing the drugs in the first place and giving the NFL an opportunity to throw their monkey wrench into the HFA/playoff race. This team and these players have to realize amongst other things the NFL is going to go after them with a fine toothed comb after Richard Sherman beat them with an appeal, and the NFL is still are extremely butthurt and embarrassed over that. Not to mention Seattle is the biggest threat to knocking out the "NFL's favorite teams" and hoisting the Lombardi, which I'm sure isn't their "desired results".

The players have to be smarter than this!

The only timing issue is WT3 dropped his appeal this week. Probably so he can be back for the playoffs. The team has probably been waiting to hear on the appeal for awhile, with this week being the week they would drop the appeal if they had not heard anything.

I'm sure we will learn more throughout the course of this week, but in reading the releases carefully, I'm reading that Thurmond will drop his appeal early NEXT WEEK so that he can be back for the playoffs.....to me, that means he is appealing specifically so that he can play in the New Orleans game(when we will clearly need him) and then will take the 4 game suspension against the 49ers, Giants, Cardinals and Rams). Then he'd be back for the playoffs....theoretically with a week of rest if we can continue to win without him...

That is my interpretation, as well.

Kind of sad all the players coming out and saying he mad a mistake, screw that he is a selfish player for jeopardizing the season, and could really effect us getting home field advantage as it will be tough against the Saints with two of our three good DB's out. Players need to start to realize that the fans are the reason they get to make millions and play a game for a living. Real job you get caught doing drugs you are fired.

Same here. The corporation I work for doesn't care that pot is legal here. As much as I hate my job I don't want to lose it when I can retire in 10 years.
