Walker seems to not have his explosion

When a RB gets the handoff with a defender already in the backfield, running skills become non existent. If it was all on the talent and ability of the RB then why even bother with guys whose only job is to block and CREATE running lanes, holes or even a crease to be used effectively?! MM preaches complementary football for a reason. A RB needs the line to do their job in order for their skills to impact the game. Try driving your car down the freeway at 75 mph with even one severely deflated tire.

That's on Walker. Walker likes to get the ball 8-10 yds back so he can see the field and so he can beeline towards the edge. Charbs doesn't. You get the ball that far back - even if you get a few yards...a defender likely meets you near the LoS.

On most teams, Walker would be that '3rd down back'. A good receiving threat and good for some breakouts occasionally. Lighting in one of those 'Thunder & Lightning' RB rooms. Not a RB1. Not even RB2 half the time.

Its the main reason we likely aren't a SB contender. Not having a consistent RB1 run game likely burns us badly in the playoffs.
