Every time there is a new development with this story, I'm so grateful that we have a coach like MM. I'm also reminded how we dodged a bullet with Vrabel. I remember after we parted ways with Pete how a couple of NFL insiders were pushing the Vrabel to Seattle possibility pretty hard. I'm sure Russinni wasn't one of them. Surely Jersey girl didn't want her side piece all the way out in the Pacific Northwest. Just speculation on my part, but I'm guessing that John, with his many connections around the league, knew that Vrabel had some skeletons in the closet.

No one can argue with MM's results. A Lombardi within two years? Has that ever been done?

I don't remember any serious talk of hiring Vrabel. The only recognizable name I can recall being talked about was Dan Quinn, at the time the DC of the Cowboys. I was hoping that we would hire someone about the same age as Macdonald but was thinking more along the lines of an offensive mind.

I am grateful that Vrabel and Russini are someone else's problem and not ours. And it's ironic that it's happened to the Patriots. I'm wondering if this and the other scandals they've had on his watch will keep Robert Kraft out of the HOF.

Will game announcers be able to resist all the innuendo every week?

It'll be brutal for the female sideline reporters.

If RCW gets a job at CBS, someone should copyright Russini Wilson.

These 2 were brazen AF. Kissing in a New York bar, renting a 2 person boat together for which they both signed. Vrabel is going to stick out like a sore thumb wherever he goes. What the hell were they thinking?! So they rent this boat together when she has a baby bump. The kid is born a couple months later and named "Mike?" Yep, that kid is his.

You need to have integrity when you're running a football team. You can get a divorce, and the players will understand because it's up front. But sneaking around with someone else's wife no less, that's a betrayal. It shows a lack of respect for your wife and family, while demonstrating a lack of integrity.
Absolutely. The action speaks volumes about his character

That's why Crissy Froyd called out Russini with such fervor that it got her fired. Regardless of how innocent they may be and how by the book they are, every time a female reporter goes on camera to cover a coach or player, everyone is going to be wondering if she's sleeping with them in order to get a story. It's a ready-made joke that will get whoever publicizes it a bunch of internet hits.

Russini has done a huge disservice to her fellow female reporters, especially where it involves men's sports.

If Vrabel is coaching the Patriots during week 1, it will be a minor miracle. This story has gone full TMZ and every week there is a new and disturbing development. I don't think he'll get fired, but I could see him taking a leave of absence. What a cluster. As for Russini, I don't know what she can do other than demand big $ for a tell-all interview. And given her character, that wouldn't surprise me in the least.

When I saw the boat pics and read that story, I had Andy Samberg's I'm on a Boat playing in my head. I supposed I shouldn't make light of it cause it's not funny to the spoused and kids of the 2 of them, but for me this is pure comedy. I think cause how much they denied and the "character references" coming in for Vrabel.

Yeah, like Drake Maye calling Vrabel "a great human being." Not the best choice of words under the circumstances.

I, too, have mixed feelings about this scandal. I'm the victim of a cheating spouse, so I know what it feels like, and I feel badly for the families involved.

But on the other hand, I find it very humorous and love watching Vrabel and Russini squirm, contradicting themselves as story after story comes out. I think of similar scandals of the past, but most involve politicians, like Gary Hart and Bill Clinton. I used to watch Saturday Night Live religiously, and the sex scandals always provided them with some great material. That's one of the reasons why I've been so active commenting in this thread.

At first, I thought that Vrabel would survive and maintain his HC job. Winning cures everything. But now I'm not so sure. I don't think he'll be fired outright, but I do think it possible that he is forced to resign prior to the start of training camp.

I think if Vrabel actually coached a team that had class and moral standards he might get the axe but this is a team whose owner gets he's from vulnerable women...their previous coach cheated by filming the other team...their qb deflated balls...and they kept a known murderer on their team...Vrabel just fits in with what this team is about.

Yeah, if Kraft were to fire Vrabel, it would bring to light something he wishes had stayed buried in the archives. It would be a case of the pot calling the kettle black. That's why I don't think he'll get fired outright rather if he does go, it will be via some type of negotiated resignation.

If it wasn't for the fact that this has both a woman as well as a man involved in unethical/immoral behavior, then I could see the league putting some pressure on Vrabel, too, as they are still trying to expand their appeal to women. But it's my guess that there's a ton of women who are more disgusted with Russini's role in this scandal, that Crissy Froyd wasn't just speaking for herself, hence I don't think there'll be a huge blowback from women with regards to the Pats/league allowing Vrabel to get by without any discipline.
