Just saw Chicago try this where it didn't make a lick of sense...is this a points spread hing for fan duel?

Baltimore did it last as well
At first I didn't understand why, but they would have been up 9 if they converted.
I think I still would have just gone for the extra point and been up 8 though

It's a clear-cut, risk-reward calculation. Based on being exactly 14 points behind with little time remaining you should go for 2 if you score a TD if your conversion rate is 38.2% or better. This is based on overtime being a 50-50 proposition and kicking an XP probability of 100%. If your XP % is lower then your conversion % can be lower. If you're less than 50-50 for OT your conversion rate can be lower.

...but basically it's a 38.2% benchmark.
