ATL likes injury prone QBs. Kind of like SF, expect the 9ers like old injury prone at every other spot.

Daniel Jones looked more like a Jets draft pick than a good QB before going 7-1 on the Colts. Geno was a serviceable QB for a minute and then becomes The Lord Tank Commander General. Darnold went from a meme to a ghostbuster with a ring. When some of these guys change zip codes, they start glitching the Matrix. I have no idea what's going to happen in ATL. Tua might suck. He might score a billion points. He might cure cancer.

Tagovailoa shouldn't need the money, but if the Falcons want to donate another million+ to his retirement fund in August then so be it.

I believe this will be the first time 2 Lefty QBs are on the same roster (I could be wrong). There were some close calls - e.g., Steve Young on the ‘86 Bucs and then Jim Zorn played one game for them as a replacement player during the ‘87 strike.

Makes sense for ATL I guess. They pay Tua peanuts while the ‘Phins are on the hook for $54M (!) of his salary.

I'm more optimistic about Tua than most people. I mean the guy really did pass for over 4000 yards in 2023 and complete 72% of his passes in 2024. Those things really happened. The fact that he struggled with a poor team in 2025 doesn't define his career.

He's definitely got some flaws in his game, and his injury history is very concerning. But he's done more in this league than Michael Penix at this point. With Penix out at the beginning of the season, Tua will get a chance. With Miami picking up the tab, the Falcons had nothing to lose. They made a smart decision.

Several Miami beat-writers and podcasters have expressed an opinion that Tagovailoa has arthritis in his hip. This would deny him the mobility or arm strength to continue playing at an NFL level.

I have arthritis in my hip. Only exercises and some pain meds relieve me of pain. Found out about it by the pain and then an Xray.

I know it's his livelihood, but I just don't think he should be on a football field.

And I'm not usually the namby-pamby fan about this kinda stuff.... but Jesus.

They can clean it up, pain meds and anti arthritis meds if he wants to play, its his head they cannot fix with concussions, being who i am I seen guys like Jim Otto play basically with the only thing holding his legs together was skin, Namath was another, watching him walk even when playing made you wince. Heart and want. Tua could play with the physical stuff since it's not his arm, just needs a good line and not take head shots, days of running are over.
