He actually may be decent years from now when he cannot run wild
with mind all over the place passing.
He has the height and arm. It's his head and legs and as long as he is
a RB trying to play QB he won't be very good at it.
This why I don't want QBs that love to run, it's like a mockery of the
position.
Mobility is fine if used only when needed as last resort or surprise open
free gain.

Unless you're a first round bust who wishes he could be at least up to collin spankerdink's level.

But never will.

He played the whole game. He actually looks better than when he was with SF. He has all the skills and the arm, just needs to bring it all together. The Cowboys were actually throwing the ball a lot in that game. Some people will just read the stat line and assume he sucked but when you watch the game it wasn't too bad.

But yeah, terrible pick by SF and our draft classes suffered for two years. Luckily 2024 draft class looks good so far, minus Pearsall which has been injured.

He threw for 323 yards on 68% completions, so it wasn't all bad. Ran for an additional 90 yards and a TD.

I watched the whole game and I agree, I thought he did okay, minus the picks of course. Not one time did I think, "Man, this guy is a bust." He just needs time to keep growing and focusing on the mental stuff...Speaking of, I think he really lost confidence in himself after being traded. That is tough to overcome for a young dude.

Well if they don't have the mental stuff all the physical stuff will never pay off. The league is full of potential stars that had balsa wood between the ears, Jamarcus Russell, Akili Smith, two of them. Why I want a guy with a quick processor, Purdy is a great example of that, Kreig, is another.

He was a terrible pick, but the Brock Purdy pick made up for it. If you had traded up to 3 to get Purdy and Lance was Mr Irrelevent everyone would think you had done pretty well.

Trey maybe the second coming of Geno Smith, he may just benefit a few years to learn and grow.

Trying not to spew my coffee but he has wood between his ears and has had plenty of time to show something, he is now on the roster because of Jones' ego, not his skill set. Great athlete, just not a great processor and judgements.

Geno looked just as terrible as Lance does when he played for the Jets. Sometimes it takes time. Lance is actually quite smart so I don’t think you can say he has wood between the ears. I think his issue is seeing the field and processing as well as accuracy

Geno had Rex (Belichick would have the same number of rings without Brady) Ryan, who was pretty public with his disdain for the Smith pick, and Todd Bowles, under whom Smith had two injury shortened seasons.

Meanwhile, Lance had Kyle (I could scheme to make a 300 pound midget look like a NFL quality QB) Shanahan.
