I've been lurking these boards since Kitna was QB, and I can only chalk it up to disbelief. I knew coming into the season that we are good, but being THIS good is uncharted territory. We all (sorta) remember what it was like after a Hawks loss, no need to make it worse by bragging on a 19-0 sesson that may never happen.

That said, I hope it does.

The focus on Bevell as fall guy for a gameplan that has Pete and Cable's fingerprints all over it being one that comes to mind.

Do you have even a hint of evidence that supports this idea whatsoever? Frankly, it just sounds like something you want to believe. Pete is a defensive guy, I find it very unlikely that he micro-manages the play calling. Cable, who knows; again, though, any evidence at all?

Cable's game plan is usually an ill-advised one in the first half. He comes out clicking in the second half after Russell tells him what adjustments to make. :)

Pete can't get off scott free here though. It's not as if Bevell doesn't show him the game plan, and, per his pressers, he starts with Pete's philosophy in mind, which is take care of the ball and establish the run game. That's not exactly a recipe for a fast start. Opposing D's are fresh and know our philosophy, so it's not really a guessing game for them. Even MORE emphasis will be placed on establishing the run early with present OL because there is no way Russ will have enough time to throw without play action setup by solid running.

Anyone remember the first play from scrimmage against Houston?
Was a bomb down the sideline, which drew a PI call. So yes, we do and will continue to establish the run, but the first play deep ball was definitely a bevell wrinkle I would think, but the O just couldn't find any consistency in the first half, which really put a crimp on anything.
It is hard to tell how good or bad the gameplan may have been when the players are getting blown off the ball every.single.play

I was looking over the threads in this forum the other day and it had the thread titled "One of our goals this year is to be undefeated" followed right after by this one, "Too humble". I knew this one was a critique of fan reactions, but it was hilarious nonetheless to see a thread about how we want to win every game followed by one about being too humble.
