SEATTLE -- The hype around the upcoming Seahawks-49ers game Sunday evening is so intense it has even garnered the attention of Mother Nature.

Forecast models indicate while Sunday should begin sunny and actually fairly warm, a line of showers and thunderstorms could move through the Seattle area Sunday afternoon and/or evening, possibly bringing a period of heavy rain and lightning during the game.

While it is kind of cool, it also sucks because of the potential pauses in the game due to lightning.

Why is everyone excited about this? Regardless of how its hyped up "mother nature is excited for the game" ok..nothing to be excited about when its delayed mother nature. No thanks lol

Moisture in the air is part of the design of the stadium to help hold noise in. I was hoping for a heavily overcast evening with tons of precipitation. I'll take lightning and thunder. Maybe we can get a thunder strike simultaneously when we are going for the noise record. Come on mother nature, show your a Seahawks fan.

Oh hell no! Now the secret 49er power outage (wink, wink) will look natural.Better dial up extra security for the light switch at the Clink.

A power outage won't save their sweet asses from what the hawks are gonna do to em.

Maybe Rice with haul in the 60-yard game-winner with .00 on the clock, and as he hits the end zone, a huge bolt will crash onto the top of the tower behind the Hawks Nest, followed by an ear-shattering BOOM!!!! Ok, Hollywood wouldn't even want that one.

In reality if that actually happened, it'd be followed by "Flag for holding, repeat 4th down".

Rain is fine, lightning would suck. They'd go into delay and completely ruin the flow and energy of the game.

Can't wait. Staying in Everett until Monday and going to the game on Sunday!

Haven't been there since 2011. Looks like I picked a good game to go to.

I would personally prefer clear skies, 65 degrees. I don't want these chumps to have any excuses. Let's be real, the team and their fans have turned excuse making into a science with Harbaugh, their professor. A full week after THE HIT, VD was still saying Kam went helmet on him (!?). They will be saying rain gave us an advantage and they would be right. Our offense is better than theirs and a slick surface favors the better offense. The reality is...we are better, but they will spin that into something else. I don't wanna' hear it.

I hope for all parts to be as equal as possible and hope for the same when we storm their house.
