People are going to learn really, really quickly that being able to coach pretty much any team to .500 or better is something that only really, really friggin' good coaches can do. Probably 5 in the world and Carroll was one of 'em.

That said, these guys are gonna get better. Infinitely better.
And this defense looks miles better than it did the past few years so far.

It’s fuking embarrassing.

The defense looks awesome. The offense has no chance at all. It’s all everyone is talking about because that is the story of the game.

All the resources we’ve committed to that position group and they have sucked the past decade.

But this level of suckery is unprecedente.

Could Grubb be in over his head? Look to me like OC has no clue. This better be the welcome to the NFL rook moment for our new OC.

It does. No contest. Overall, though - sloppy team play. They're disjointed.

That's not meant to be an insult. That's something that any fan would be ignorant not to expect for a bunch of guys doing new jobs at the top level of football against a team that's being led by one of the most experienced and detail-oriented coaches in the league.

As long as they keep the energy up, I'm fine. That's all I want to see. Fight. Everything else will be trial-and-errored until they discover their identity.

The 2nd safety- wtf was tomlinson doing? If the RB Is going to the right side, how in the actual hell do you let the defensive lineman completely eat your lunch and get free pass to the inside? Like the ONLY thing you really need to do is block off any path to the inside. I’m baffled rn.

First half of his first game as an NFL playcaller, and he doesn't have a guy like Pete who's been coaching for 45 years to lean on for training wheels. We're going to need to give him some time to adjust to the pro game. No amount of practice or preseason can truly prep him for that experience.

I'm going to hold off making any real judgments until at least a few weeks in.

JS has to be the worst evaluator of OL talent in the history of NFL GMs. It’s been a decade of garbage OL

Dude, are you even watching the game? the O-line is the worst I have ever seen. You could have the greatest offensive genius of all time calling plays and it wouldn't make a bit of difference.

There's some legit talent there.

Stone has always sucked, so that's to be expected.

Connor's good but he's coming in very cold and very new to the team. Everyone else is learning a new offense. They're gonna look like shit at first. The word "gel" is overused, but with no continuity anywhere in the organization built yet... they're gonna *really* need to gel.

So is this mostly on the lack of talent of the Oline players? Vs. Online coaching or just needing time together?

Because if it's the latter 2 then there's some reason to hope for improvement. If it's the first...we better hunker down for a long season.

Imagine if the opener would have been against one of the dominant teams? Good thing we got Nix. I hope they figure some things out.
