I don't think Pete and Russ are just saying the right things. I don't think either have Ill will towards Sherman.

I also don't think Sherman is playing the heel. He does harbor Ill will towards Russ. He wants all the credit and wants none of the blame when things go wrong. He is a very immature individual.

I guarantee you both Pete and Russ, and for that matter a LOT of players on the team probably would like to say what they really think about some of the things Sherman said or did.

But they aren't petty and butthurt like Richard, they're more diplomatic and so they say the right things.

Another Chapter in the story of Richard being Richard. Next chapter to follow on Sunday ....

Even Richard Sherman’s friends acknowledge he doesn’t easily admit to errors.

This week, Seahawks linebacker Bobby Wagner affectionally noted his ex-teammate’s significant stubborn streak when asked if he could recall the 49ers cornerback being incorrect during their six seasons together.

“No, he’s not wrong,” Wagner told reporters before Sherman’s return to Seattle on Sunday. “If he says the sky is purple, it’s purple.”

Maybe so, but I just get tired of people talking about people who aren't spewing vitriol and venom as fake.

Russ and Pete aren't being fake. I know they are competitive and want to win but I do think they respect Sherman the player and what he did here and that's what they said.
It's not just saying the right thing and Russ being a robot. It's Russ being a much more mature person in his mentality and mindset.

Oh I don't think they're fake at all..........as I said Pete and Russell speak how I think players and coaches should speak, diplomatically and positively.

But honest? No, I imagine speaking to both of them in private about Richard would result in quite different opinions.

I keep in mind 2 things:

1)He'll always get the last word when/where it matters. By that I mean, the Bay Area media is going to publicize Sherm well into next week, and every week, and they're not going to come interview fans in Seattle to get an opposing perspective. He'll spin the game outcome however it best suits him and his local media will eat it up. He's promoting 9r-Sherm more than hating on the Seahawks.

2)For every "boo" he gets Sunday, he'll sell a jersey in San Fran. It's just escalating his status and persona. As truly as Seahawk fans loved it when he was trash-talking Brady, 9rs will love it when he trashes Wilson. The more he's given a platform, the more jerseys and TShirts and bobble heads and beanies... he'll sell.

... and that's fine. We're all American and Capitalists. But don't be fooled into thinking his comments are about anything other then his own self-promotion and profiting while he can.

Agreed. And he wasn't the only one from that Seahawk era. Things got weird behind the scenes. Wasn't an easy team to be a part of...
