Watching some Red Zone replay last night, Sherm was getting absolutely torched by Evans. He looks really slow to me, almost like he's playing injured still. He never was a fast guy. Evans was open by 5 yards on a long pass over Sherm and the only thing that kept him from scoring an easy TD was the ball being thrown too far towards the sidelines.

Richard Sherman gave us "The Tip" which helped lead us to our first Super Bowl victory. He may now be wearing enemy colors now but I will always remember him as a Seahawk!!
He gave us "The Tip" and the team gave him "The Shaft".

Couldn't resist.

I love Sherm. I would applaud him before or after the game. No cheers, just applause. A sign of respect.

During the game? Booing is the route to go. I think he would expect it.

One day, he WILL be raising that 12 flag. And he WILL get cheered.

The man brought a lot of great memories to this franchise. I hope he goes in the HOF.

How quickly people forget him throwing Russ, Pete and John under the bus. Claiming the team had "lost it's way" etc.
Sure he gave us great memories, he also acted like a spoiled 5 year old his last couple seasons here. Screaming at coaches and players on the sidelines, and then acting like it didn't happen. That crap with Jim Moore, who yes is a complete moron. Then after going to the Niners, he still kept going on and on.
Now his team is horrific, he's playing average and we don't hear a thing from him.
He'll go down as one of the best Hawks of all time, and one of my favorites. But he's not above criticism. I won't boo him or cheer him. I just look forward to him getting burnt and him telling us it's fake news.

TV sports commentators are always looking for a subject to talk about during the game. I hope they bring up Sherm's comments about Pete, ect during the broadcast. It will help show how out of touch with reality he is.
Splendid player, but he is an asshat.

I'm not too worried about Sherm next week. He's a shell. Mike Evans totally abused him (again) yesterday. Evans was 3-3 in Sherman's coverage. He beat Sherm bad off the line early in the game and would've had a 60 yard TD if Winston would've thrown a better placed ball. It still went for a 40+ yard gain. Evans is a top wideout though. He's a very underrated route runner. But the bigger, more physical WRs used to be the ones Sherm could stop.

Wondering who will line up against him? We don't have an Evans type big body WR on our roster.

He was probably correct. The thing that may be said is as a leader, he was directing the direction they were going. So as an entitled player, because of his previous play, he helped them go down the wrong path.

Now, the team again buys into the program and voila....we are back.

Just something to think about.

It's not just what but rather when, how, where, and why he expressed his opinions.

We have Moore. But I'd bet Lockett is a better matchup with Sherm because of Tyler's speed and chemistry with Russell. David Moore has been making big plays on the opposite side anyway.

Fair enough, still not necessary to talk as much as he did.

I still feel that he was trying to brand himself for future action. Needs to sell shirts or whatever other brand of commodity he prefers to sell when he is out of football. Just like Neon Deion, now selling himself on CBS. For that to happen, his mouth needs to still be going 24/7. And it is................

Sherman's not a cover corner, he just lines up on the same side like he did here. So it'll be all our WR's depending on the formations and playcalls.

Guarantee you Schotty and Pete are going to call a LOT of crossing patterns and double moves making Sherman turn his hips and follow our speedy receivers across the formation........two things he's not very good at.

His mistake is in not having the experience to understand that there are consequences to actions. As you said, When, How, Where, and Why.....are those things that experience dictate. As I responded to Soul, he still is trying to brand himself...for sales.

With Lockett, Sherm probably will use his length and strength to stuff Tyler in the first 5 yards. If Lockett somehow wriggle free, Sherm ain't catching him ...

Go Hawks. Especially the ones still on the team and/or the ones who didn't CHOOSE to bash the team after their exit.

Just a reminder to people saying he trashed the Seahawks on the way out after they cut him:

https://www.theplayerstribune.com/en-us ... ree-agency

Personally I don't see any of that in this. It's all very reasonable IMO and very complimentary of the fanbase and the city (save for those trashing him because the Seahawks cut him  )

FWIW he's also been a model teammate in SF so far.

He bad mouthed Russ, Pete, John, the team. Smartly, never bad mouthed the Fans. Though I do remember him calling the fans out for booing once, which was kind of corny.
Oh well, thx for the memories. It was time for a change.

No he just trashed his coaches, teammates, coordinators and the press WHILE he was here...........which is worse.

Then he did what he always has done, have a revisionist history of what happened to make himself look better. This is what he said in July.

"They’ve lost their way. It’s as simple as that. They’ve just lost their way. When you make too many mistakes over a long period of time, you kind of dig yourself a hole. And then when you backtrack, you gotta make a bunch of rash decisions to try and fill the hole and hope that it holds up.

“When we were rolling it was an environment for pure competitors. When it becomes something else, then it’s more difficult to thrive in, and I think that’s what was tough on Earl, that’s what was tough on a lot of guys. But I think as it kind of progressed, you start seeing the writing on the wall. You’re like, ‘Not only are they probably moving in a different direction,’ but it’s like, ‘Ah, well, I kind of want to move in a different direction, too.’ So it happens like that. All great things must come to an end, I guess."

Right Richard, the Hawks just lost their way, it had nothing to do with you and other toxic members of the team undermining Pete and the other coaches with your negativity and outbursts. What Richard should have said is that he and his buddies weren't playing up to their contracts anymore, and their butthurt attitudes over not getting new deals and being cut was REALLY the issue.

But he couldn't, and still can't see the forest through the trees. He just acts all confused, like 2018 wouldn't have been an even worse repeat of 2017 if we kept all those guys.

Best match up against Sherman, Lockett or McKissic, small quick guys, not power big bodied like Moore. That's what Sherm eats for breakfast.
