I've watched this team very close this season, and I have to say they are what we want to be. Or maybe what we used to be.

They have a top 3 secondary and a great front 7. On offense they pound the rock with Ivory and use Marshall and Decker as big targets in the passing game. But most importantly they protect their QB. Going into yesterdays game they had only given up a league best 2 sacks to Fitzpatrick.

I'm not sure what I'm trying to get at here in this thread, but I just admire the Jets. Probably the most well rounded team in the NFL right now and they get little to no credit.

They make me happy and sad - happy because our former DC Todd Bowles is their new head coach.

Sad because we no longer have Todd Bowles

They spent wisely on O-line. Maybe people think they overspent on Breno and Carp, but guess what? Their O-Line is getting done while our LG and RT positions have been a dumpster fire.

When they got Brandon Marshall for a 5th rounder, and we spent a 1st on Graham, I openly wondered how we could justify that and I think I was right. We are killing our depth by making trades like this while other teams are adding similar pieces at a fraction of the cost.

We spent a 5th rounder on Kelcie McCray. Jets got a WR1 for the same cost. Let that sink in.

I think they are a QB away from being a legitimate AFC threat. I don't think Geno Smith is their answer and Fitz is only a stopgap. He wont win games for them but his positive has been not losing games. Their defense is fun to watch, Todd is a terrific coach.

I agree. They are a top 12 QB away from being a legit SB contender. I know Fitz has been great so far, but when he has to put the team on his shoulders and throw 40 times, he will make mistakes, he always has. Having a great running game and great defense has helped him a lot. But if you put a Russell Wilson, Matt Ryan or Cam Newton on that team, they could be the best team in the NFL.

And I agree about Brandon Marshall. That is looking like one of the best off-season acquisitions this year.

Pretty early, but so far, absolutely.
