I was curious to see how Coach Mike would have this team prepared coming off their first loss of the season. What is the name of Peter Clay Carroll did I just witness? This team was totally unprepared and really SUCKED in all three phases. We deserved to lose this game.

Seattle gave up 7 sacks

Never attempted to establish the running game

I'm pretty sure the NYG won the TOP by quite a bit

I don't know the actual stats but NY was able to run at a nice YPC . Or at least it looked like it

Metcalf was targeted way too much. He looked like he'd given up , even disinterested. Another costly fumble at the worst time. I can't wrap my head around him and Lockett and their salaries . I wonder what the Seahawks could pick up FA lineman for what they're paying those two guys.

Seattle never looked like they adjusted at halftime. They looked lost , uninspired, slow to the ball. The Giants looked like a team that HAD to win a game and didn't care what it took. Congrats to them .

Edit : watching our offensive line was very hard to do today. They got mauled by the NYG.
Pushed , manhandled , and Geno got rattled . For everyone calling for Haynes?
It doesn't matter , he got bitch slapped too.

It seems like Grubb is showing a pattern that other teams have figured out. Take away the outside running plays and he'll abandon the run. Or he doesn't value running the ball. So we will just sit on the short route and make him throw deep because his oline won't be able to hold up on those plays.

At this point teams have 5 games worth of film to look at. We're at the point of the season where teams are game planning using current film and not last year's. That means that anything that has been shown as a weakness, like runs straight up the gut against our D, we'll see a steady dose of until we can stop it. Opposing defenses are also seeing our offensive tendencies. The thread title is correct - the honeymoon is over, this is where the coaching staff starts earning their salaries.

You may have a point.

I remember Pete once said, an ultimate team can impose their will on the opponents. Even when the opponent knew what you were going do, they still couldn't stop it.

The Giants defense has been holding everyone to around 20 points so they aren't too bad. Before our 20 points they held their previous opponents to 20, 15, 21 and 28 (Vikings).

That worked until he couldn't actually impose his will on any team but kept trying instead of changing.

It’s the same stuff with different coaches. Maybe MM won’t be so loyal as PC was. We’ll see.

That makes me think of the Cowboys O line from the 90s, you knew what was coming but were powerless to stop it

When you have Larry Allen who could men handle any DT in front of him, imposing you will was easier :)

As bad as our OL got manhandled today, if JSN doesn't drop that 3rd down pass right in his hands, we well might have won the game by the end of the 4th quarter with a TD. We were really moving the ball there at the end of the game.
