1st and goal with just over a minute left. I got my wish. I said earlier in the day all I ask for is that the Cardinals have a shot to win in the end.
Here it was. Rams blitz, Kyler rushes his pass, the ball hits the player’s helmet, it ricochets off into what should be an incompletion and of course, of course, a Rams defender intercepts the football.
Ironic his last name is Witherspoon.
A seemingly fitting end to the Hawks’ playoff chances after bending over to the ridiculously terrible Giants at home.
I say seemingly because inexplicably, your young and growing Seattle Seahawks are still alive to win the division as of the moment of this typing.
I’m always up for a good half glass full debate. I look at what the Rams need to happen this morning and there is a true fighter’s chance we get to let it come down to the final game next Sunday.
The only certainty for them to me is the Bills over the Jets. That means they need two of the other four games to go their way and by God, I don’t see any of those as a certainty for them.
At the very least it makes for a much more exciting early slot of games to watch for Seahawks fans.
If it goes the Rams way? No biggie. It makes next Sunday much less stressful. The only thing we would have to root for is the satisfaction of beating a kind-of overrated Rams team and finish the season 10-7, a highly respectable start to the Mike Mac era.
We have a lot of work to do offensively from players to coaching. But the blueprint is pretty damn obvious the Hawks are going to be a force to reckon with on defense.
We are a year or two away from being a 13 win-type of team.
A lot to dissect but ultimately I feel good about the direction we are headed.
